What do you use the C-255 for ?
Hello

been playing this recently, completed the Coast map, using the C-4320 and D-537 to take the logs to the sawmills.

Tried with the C-255, but I got bogged down with it, even with off road tyres on it, but thing was, the C-4320 was able to pull a trailer of logs through the same bit of mud.

So, is the C-4320 capable of going through deeper mud than the C-255, while pulling a trailer ?

Or did I just get unlucky ?

I did use the C-255 to unlock the garages though, it managed that just fine :)

The C-255 is a well balanced vehicle. I use it mostly for support to fuel and repair other vehicles.

it's my second favourite one just after the MAZ 500 something... (not to mention the ZIL 130, but it's in a special category...)

255 should never get bogged down if you play the gears right and pay attention to where you are going.

The 255 is better than the 4320. Just use appropriate tires.
The best 2 vehicles are the 537 and if you need something more manouverable i take the 255.
It seems to me that the 255 has more power over the 4320 and can take more damage, even if the hitpoints are the same.

Getting hopelessly stuck:P
What Heimdall said, the MAZ-537 and KrAZ 255 are probably the best two trucks available as they can plow through pretty much any terrain without much trouble. The others are better suited for specialized tasks imo.

well, since I got the C-255 stuck, and did also manage to roll the D-537 twice, I think I might have found where the problem is :D:

so, do you normally just use the lumber depot to load the C-255, or use the cranes on one of the other trucks to do it manually ?

Love to load it myself, can't wait to have a mode in which you have to load every Load by yourself :D, if logs wouldn't disappear once you took them, or if they respawned, i would load manually every load... it's so much fun!

what about a forestry truck, that has one of those harvester saws on a crane arm? Make your own logs !

also a way to do it but im not sure how hard it will be to make it work, i'm not a modder or programer myself but i do believe it would be certainly easier to make logs respawn instead of creating a whole new game system :O!

Weird that you guys say the C-255 is better or wel should be better. When i did my river map i used both the C-4320 and the C-255, and where the C-4320 had no problems at all getting back on the road at the NW garage I had to use the winch with the C-255. I remember there being more places where the 4320 just drove trough and had to winch with the 255. And yes they where both using the wide offroad wheels and using the same gear/settings. Also it is a shame that the 255 doesn't have a crane :(

The C-255 has more power "30hp or something" and is less heavy.. So the C-255 is the better truck. The D-537 is a class on its own...

The C-255 is my favourite truck and i drive it through everything. BUT, the C-4320 has more ground clearance wich gives it a little bit more of an edge in deep mud. At least it plows through it faster. In 1+ gear the C-4320 is also faster but then again when using that gear in mud it stalls faster than the C-255 wich makes me think the C-255 has a little bit more torque.

Just know where to drive and you will hardly ever get stuck.

The main difference with the C255 is that it's got a turbocharged engine, rather than a naturally aspirated one. This gives it a bit more power and a lot more torque, but uses more fuel.

It also gets Highway Wheels, which give some useful bonuses when pulling a trailer.

I found nearly no use for the C-255 yet and found the C 4320 far superior in every circumstance.
I never ever got stuck with the Ural 4320, no matter what trailer or what terrain, it simply fights through, on the other hand the C-255 gets stuck in heavy mud and needs extensive whinching and towing.
i played a lot in single player mode and often built a convoy with a C-4320 with its standard offroad tires in front and the C-255 on offroad tires in the back. Due to the fact, that the computer controlled backward vehilce won't engage the diff-locks, it get's stuck fairly easily and there shows the difference between both vehicles.

Hills and ramps, that the Ural 4320 climbed with engaged diff-locks without a problem are insuperable obstacles for the KRAZ 255. You switch controll to the backward KRAZ and even with now engaged diff-locks, you can't climb certain hills and ramps the Ural proved he can climb without any problem. In one case i even had to leave it behind and get the MAZ 535 for recovery.

I don't care about power, bigger fuel tank or pretty useless highway tires of the Kraz, as it doesn't help me getting the job done the Ural get's done without any problems.
The Ural is my work horse for every main task. If i need support vehicles, i simply tow the with the Ural to the needed destination, because i know beforehand, that the support vehicles WILL always get stuck at some point of the journey.
