Easy to install quality maps, and tweaks for everyone.
-Updated January 2025 (fixed an issue with the UAZ file being improperly configured, new mud friction/resistance...)

So I was kind of bored with the game in itself and started tweaking and searching about maps and mods. Needless to say a ton of maps are not meant to be played on this version of the game and thus are not enjoyable with default trucks, or simply are boring. I thought I could save people some time and share here, maps that still plays well.

There are also few things I kept on my drive forever that I use, or plan to use, with the idea of keeping the game vanilla in its core. I want to share some of the best maps I played on this 1.7.1 and a few tweaks.

What's included in this folder consist of :
-A preconfigured Spintire Plus configuration to give support for any mods you want that needs it, like tracked vehicles. (More info in "Readme").
-The restoration of the K-700 Tractor, with original assets from 1.7.0, and all language strings.
-A coherent texture for the winch rope (extreme nitpicking).
-Options to remove intrusive textures and film grain from gameplay (dotted lines around garage, map border and others...).
-A restoration of the brown water from 1.5.1 (Basically it's the same 1.7.1 water; but slightly translucent).
-1.5.1 color palette
-Mud chunks and rocks that doesn't look some orange extraterrestrial rocks lol.
-Mud friction tweak, additionally slightly increase water flow power).
-Option to revert wheels skidding sound prior to sherp DLC update. (Plays better on older maps with custom surfaces)
-Lore friendly and light offroad wheelset for UAZ.
-And a pack of 11 chosen maps, from 2 of the best creators of Spintires era, each playable with their default vehicles config and custom assets. For the OG experience you will need the K-700 restoration as most maps have spawns dedicated for it.

Of course it is modular. In each archives is provided more infos and credits.

I plan to add more maps in my free-time or when I'm bored again, theres a lot of classics that should play well. Also have other ideas, things like; restoring vehicles steering angle from other versions, as an option.

Also I will help anyone who needs DLCs, outside of this forum, because they will all disappear from the market soon. We're supposedly not allowed to share them, but know there is a way to play them on your Steam installation.

Updated :
-Mud tweaks : Its much harder overall but mud is easier to cross with momentum, throttle control still mandatory. Added an option to make it slightly easier (2.25 to 2.6 friction multiplier).
-Added lore friendly offroad wheelset in garage for UAZ. Very small friction multiplier.
-Installation procedures, it's easier.

-Update 5 : Restored colors of the orange and brown mud chunks, it should be grey and dark grey so it looks like rocks, like in original Spintires.

Also added option for 1.5.1 color palette (colder, less vibrance).

Cool, some areas are still really tough to get through on some maps tho, but they are fun overall, gotta play it slowly :)

I've been playing Spintires since 2015, then moved to MudRuuner during that sad period, is amazing to see how today Spintires is still a superior experience, although MudRunner is enjoyable and has a lot of up-to-date maps.

It is superior in terms of handling simulation, but Snowrunner and Mudrunner are a steap ahead as complete videogames, sadly I do not find the physics as satisfying in those 2 :)

The Black Diamond map V2, well, it's not a really top map...
It smells a pure trail map just adapted fastly to a log map.
For now, I have really hard time on it & it just seems to me to be some BS or I am here pretty bad...

I had highly more pleasure to play on Biverrig.

Will try those when I have more time, Biverrig looks really cool. yes trails maps are not really playable past 1.6.0 version of the game sadly (unless you tweak friction to unrealistic levels). Devs added rock friction fix though, so pure rock crawling is ok I think, but I'm more into logging stuff personnally.

The Biverrig is really really a high top map.
The creator of that map is somekind of psychopath :D
Seriously, I played it step by step & it was really some nice rides.

The Black Diamond, I finally have success in unlocking all lockout but just one left (far south east part of the map, that last one...)
I also began to supply the sawmills, but I wonder if I will try to finish it or not, as the frustration is higher than the pleasure.
I try to tell to myself "go for the challenge", but it's hard.

EDIT : finally, I gave up on the Black Diamond.
Certainly a good trail map, but really a BS one for logging.

Instead, I began the Blackwater Canyon one, I enjoy it far better !

Well, while I can enjoy Mudrunner even being more "easy", the sound engine choice for Snowrunner kills the game for me, the samples are ok, but the lack of RPM is terrible, is just an idle sound, a heavy load sound, and a terrible rev sound all together. Also, some trucks feel like RC cars, they look lightweight and without any flexibility. I have spent 200 hours in the game and enjoyed some aspects, but playing Spintires or Mudrunner is more rewarding.

I wish someday we can have a true successor for spintires.
