How do you re-attach a fallen semi trailer?
Hey there.

You know when you've just loaded a semi-trailer up and wanted to put it into storage for later, then detach the trailer and drive away.

Well if you don't press the 'park trailer' function, it results in something similar to this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=677399248

This is a problem because there are no other vehicles on the map (This happens to be a custom map with a custom trailer, buit the same applies with something like the garage trailer on one of the default maps) to pick the fallen trailer up.

So the only way to do it would be with the only vehicle you can use: A logging crane to try to pick it up.

While the logging crane is a good crane, it wasn't designed to pick fallen trailers up.

So, do you have any advice?

If it's muddy terrain, you could try to dig your truck under the trailer. And brute force is working sometimes too *lol*

Yeah, it's a shame that a bucket isn't handy...

Edit: apparently, I DID press 'Park trailer, apparently, the landing gear isn't strong enough...

The landing gear is probably plenty strong enough. It's the muddy terrain swallowing said landing gear! :steammocking:

That's probabily it to be honest since when I did finely picking it up, the landing gear was deployed...

Well that sucks

Tow the trailer out of the mud with your truck from the rear (using winch)

hmm... apparently saving a game and reloading it also resets the trailer's landing gear...

You mean it worked after reloading?

only put down the landing gear on solid ground, in mud it sink obviously. just remember next time and all will work as expected.

I don't think there's anywhere solid in most maps though.

there should be a winch point under msot railer that matches with the winch point on the rar of the truck. Winch to it, drag the trailer around til you find a bump you can puit the front of trha trialer on top of and get the truck under..takes a while, but works eveyrt ime.

If your truck is powerful enough xD

Reverse your truck right up to the trailer -keeping it as central as possible with the trailer as if you were connecting it as usual, okay. Switch to rear camera view and angle your view until you are looking down as much as possible. Press the 'advanced' button to enable winching etc. At the rear of your truck -where the tow bar is- mouse over it till you see a *BLACK* dot towing point, that is the part your trailer connects to. Click on it and it will either tell you you are not in line with the trailer on the ground or it will *automaticaly* connect the trailer to your truck.

I do this all the time with fuel tanks that i drop off -the towing bar just drops to the ground and can't be parked.

Uh, he's taling about semis, not bumber-pulls. If it were a trailer with a drawbar, then you could even just winch directly to the tip of the tounge and bring it closer, but since this is a Semi, you need to get the front up on top of the rear of the hcassis to seat the fifthwheel...which is not always easy..

Sorry you are correct, didn't see it was a semi.. duh!
Yes it's a fundamental failure that Oovee never sorted that glitch out.
