China DLC and others

Has anyone tried purchasing the DLC's from another source like G2A and attempted to install them without the base game being in the Store due to the legal issues that are still pending?
I want to have the DLC's but I don't want to make the purchase if the redeem codes won't work and then have to fight for a refund, know what I mean?
If anyone can shed light on this subject, I'd be very grateful.

Bought all new DLC from Greenman gaming, instant steam keys- like as soon you purchase the keys are in your face instant! As per above work perfectly fine

purchased this DLC from Humble Store and it works fine. Ones downloaded i had to restart PC. maybe restarting steam alone was enough. Also when starting the game now its as of steam freezes for 1 minute before the game comes on so do not panic when this happens. its normal.

Also bought Snowrunner so I have something for when I finish Spintires.

You know you never really finish these games you just keep coming back! If you’ve bought SR and the season pass? Then you’ll never be bored. These three are now the only driving games I play. Despite over 600+ hours in ETS2. I’ve hit ‘the wall’ in it and it doesn’t give me the satisfaction and challenge of ST,MR and SR. Now if only SR had cruise control....

For like over 80 $ and I not even sure if there's comunity content. I preffer sticking to spintire, mudrunner and beam.
