Where do i get titanium ore?

I know that titanium ore can be crafted at the chem lab but that requires a microchip, and the microchip requires a material printer, which then requires titanium. Is it just a rare ore? I have spent 6 hours looking for it so I would really appreciate guidance.

Oh gosh, I didn't realize the circular dependency there, sorry about that, I'll have to think about those recipes a bit to resolve that. You can actually get microchips without the material printer by looting them from the little bots in the Pioneer Station, but it would be easy to not notice that. There are 2 ways to get titanium ore anyway though, the crafting way (that you've already seen) and you can also use an alien machine at the bottom of the planet to call down meteors to the planet, some of which have titanium deposits when cracked open.
