Help how do i make a smelter?

I have some raw ore but no option to make a smelter, could someone help a noob?

your first smelter will be a basic smelter, its a rather simple one to make, you need to dig up stone and clay, craft a campfire under the projects tab if you haven't done this yet (light it using fire starter [made with flint and grey rock]), and craft 10 bricks out of the clay. then under the crafting equipment listing select and craft basic smelter.

i do not have the basic smelter blueprint. does it populate automatically when I have the necessary resources?

i do not have the basic smelter blueprint. does it populate automatically when I have the necessary resources?

You get the smelter recipe when you find basalt (stone) blocks the first time. You might want to try using the recipe search to look for it, you might just not be finding the right category.

no you were right, I just didn't find basalt at that time.
