Where to find more gems?

Is there a type of rock that will drop them? Is it better to use a pickaxe? Just having problems getting more to craft with.

Deposits, especially the deeper ones, have a chance to drop gems.

There are also rock creatures that will always drop one, sometimes two, gems.

There's an important point to be made here. Gems, especially rose quartz, are rare. I gave up on ever getting enough to make a full set of jewel items because it'd take a lot of grinding.....probably hundreds of kills of rock monsters to get them. Maybe there should be rare deposits of gems underground as well?

When you say deposits, do you mean like the clusters in the walls we mine, or the piles of rock and such sitting there on a flat section of land ?

He probably means the rock bits sitting on the flat land, most of those have a decent chance of dropping gems. I think I'm going to tweak the gem equipment recipes a bit to be less grindy for the next update.

Yes, the bits of piled up stuff I refer to as deposits. Because that's what they are called in-game. :P Limestone deposit, saltpeter deposit, granite deposit, etc.
