Hi! Do you have 64 bit OS?

Just plug in sg to the mic input.

Crazy, but works for me :)

SG = something :) (microphone, speaker or just a thing like this: http://www.metroman.hu/kepek/2695_2_5-jack-3_5-jack-adapter.jpg )

The multiplayer will work.

I got it to work by running steam in admin mode.

I have the exact same problem. Single player works fine, but if I start up COD2 multiplayer, it crashes. I plugged in some headphones in the Microphone input, but still it wont start up.

Finally got the "plug something into the mic jack" solution to work. Didn;t work on the front panel jack, but did work om the back panel mic jack. Just plugged a pair of extra ipod earphones in. New problem, most of the servers I try to join get to a downloading stage and just hang or download @ 15 bytes a sec. Anyone know why?? Sorry new to this

Check your CoD2 main folder for temp files and delete any you find. You should not be downloading at that speed from any server with a proper re-direct. Try ours, if it doesn't work, then the problem is on your end. If it works, you either have a temp copy in you main folder of what you're downloading from other servers, or the server is set up wrong.
