Cod2MP_s.exe Is not working
For some reason Cod 2 will not run on my win 7 64 bit operating system.
I baught it from steam. It was working Perfectly last week but since then it just keeps giving me that error. I've tried reinstalling it but thats not working.
I'm disapointed cause i hardly have gotten to play on my favorite servers because of previous
PunkBuster problems that lasted for 3 years untill steam did an update.
i've played maybe 4 days and now its not working again.
Any suggestions?

uninstall. install it into your 32bit program files folder not 64 bit. Simple put

if your steam is installed under
C:\Program Files\steam

than close steam. and run it as administrator. after that reinstall cod2 into

C:\Program Files(x86) which is 32-bit (where cod2 is comfortably ran) and now this is no fix for cod2 yet. This simply fixes steams problem with the game in some form. Now, go to your cod2 folder located under C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common simply go back to C:\Program Files\Steam and find the file called "Steam.dll" and COPY ( NOT MOVE ) into your cod2 folder. So you should be looking at C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Cod2\ and paste the "steam.dll"

If it does not work, look for the other file called Steam2.dll and do the same process. Steam2.dll should be located in the same place as "steam.dll". let me know if it works.

after doing so, by the way. Before trying game, close steam and run normally. DO NOT RUN IN ADMINISTRATOR. Instead go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\cod2 and right click the Cod2mp_s.exe file and make sure you set it to run as administrator. Or for testing purposes to see if this helps you. Right click and click run as administrator.
