Black screen/no start/can't find Steam fixes for Windows 11 users
  • Install https://cod2x.me/ (just drag and drop the 2 dll's into your install folder)
  • Copy Steam.dll and Steam2.dll from your Steam install to the game's install folder
  • Turn off any overlays like MSI Afterburner

No need to run the game in compatibility modes as the above 3 steps allowed me to play crash free
