Is Multiplayer still active?

I'm tempted to buy the game but only if the multiplayer is still active. The nostalgia is really strong for this one but the price is still a bit much for a 16 year old game.

most servers are bots, i just found 1 or 2 active servers so far (non-modded, i dont want to play mods).
