wont launch multiplayer on windows 10
havent tried single player

To run on windows 10...

*********RUN STEAM IN ADMINISTATOR MODE*********

Make sure steam.dll and steam2.dll are in cod2 main folder. COPIED NOT MOVED. And also be sure to check cod2_mp.exe properties and change compatability settings to windows vista first. Attempt to run cod2.

Black Screen -> Wait 5 minutes * if it doesnt open, close cod2 and move to next steps.
Crash -> Move to next steps.

Change compatability settings in cod2_mp.exe to Windows XP SP3.
If you have a microphone, plug it into jack to see if it resolves the issue.
If it doesn't resolve the issue. Turn off all microphone's in sound settings via Speakers quick access in bottom right corner of your screen.

*Recording Devices* - > disable all.

Start Cod2 multiplayer and wait for 5 minutes again. If it doesn't work, hit alt+tab to minimize game. If game doesn't minimize, Ctrl+Alt+Delete. DO NOT CLOSE COD2. Wait 5 minutes. Attempt to re-maximize cod2 and let me know if it runs. I have more solutions for you just to check these first.
