To Fix black and white screen on AMD cards

Go into the main menu and turn anti aliasing 'off'

I hope this saves somebody a few hours. (I didn't have to do any of the other things it turns out, just that and the game runs fine.)

when you turned it off, when can you turn the anti aliasing on again?

I suspect it would not work. I remember that at the time I thought 'this game looks much better than I thought it would, given its age.' So i just didnt mess with any other settings.
