Sounds like your antivirus might have placed the file in quarantine as a false positive.
Could be, it suddenly disappeared and was nowhere to be found. I've downloaded it again and replaced the entire CoD2 folder into the folder of the download, now it is working again
Please make sure you have headphones plugged in then launch the game.
Hi, this problem seems to occur when modded files are conflicting with the server you are trying to join. I suggest deleting all custom files in you main folder then enter a server without mods to see if it loads.
you can change the resolution settings from config which is located in the following:
Program Files (x86) / Steam / steamapps / common / Call of Duty 2 / main / players / your in-game profile name
config.cfg is for campaign
config_mp.cfg is for multiplayer
open (with notepad) the config then search (Ctrl F) the command lines below and edit their values.
seta r_mode "1024 × 768" (Edit it to the resolution you wish to use, such as "1920x1080")
seta r_fullscreen "1" (1 is for fullscreen, 0 is for windowed mode)
seta r_displayRefh "60 Hz" (Change to your desired Hz, such as "144 Hz")
once you're done editing, you can save changes made to the file(s) and exit.
If you don't like editing via the config, you can write all the commands directly through the console. Load your game and press ` to bring up console, then type in all the desired commands. FInally, type vid_restart to force the changes.
