PC version of CoD2 doesn't support controllers natively, so it looks like you'll have to use a program like "DS4 Windows". you can search it on Google to find its website and other info regarding how to use the tool.

when CoD2 was released in 2005, playing shooter games on PC with controllers was a rare thing, so devs didn't care about offering it as an option. if you're asking for a patch by devs, then it's nearly impossible to happen.

thanks for the feedback. I regularly use ds4 Windows in some games from origin, epic games ok. The problem is when I try to use ds4 with cod 2 nothing happens. i played 30 hours of this game in the past on mac using inputmapper. now in 2021 i would like to play it on the pc using rtx 3080, but unfortunately i can't make the game recognize the control using ds4 Windows

Try starting the game using Steam Big Picture. It supports PS4 Controller if you set up the controlls correctly.
