Spanish Civil War Mod Problem
I downloaded Spanish Civil War Mod. Installation (with launcher) was normal. However, when I click on icon on desktop, then apperas window with game's title screen and then nothing happens. There is no error window or anything. Do I something wrong? How to install this mod correctly?

Look at my guide. It will help you to install it correctly.

Within properties, in the option that puts Direct Access you will see this link:
"C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Call of Duty 2 \ CoD2SP_s.exe"
At the end of the quotes, we will write this:
+ set fs_game mod1936sp

I can't add + set fs_game mod1936sp because I have an error that the name is incorrect.

You have to create a folder under that name mod1936sp or whichever you want. Within that folder you must place the files of the mod.

I had the same problem. Tried multiple times. Then for some reason I did it the exact same way again, but it worked.

It's been 3 years since this thread was created and I helped that person with the problem. Without forgetting that I had to update the guide at the time, because people had some problems and they were not sure how to follow any of the steps.
If you had experienced any problems, you could have asked me. I am always available for any questions.
Anyway, I'm glad it finally worked for you.

Curious: there's a free version of Cod 2 (ToddyCod), I'm wondering if this mod works for that or I'd actually have to buy the steam version?

Also on a side note, does this mod override the base game, or is it essentially an additional campaign and you can still play the base ones if desired?

I don't know that version called ToddyCod. So I couldn't tell you hehe.

To play this mod, you need to have Call of Duty 2. You don't have to buy it on Steam, if you get it in retail version for example, you can also install it.

The mod does not override anything. If you take a look at my guide, you will see how to install it.

Oh nice, thanks. ToddyCod is a free hack of the game I found a while ago, but I bought the Steam version yesterday so it doesn't really matter.

I'll try and see if I can install the mod properly, but my only question is the install location. Unless I'm looking at the wrong place, my file location for Cod 2 doesn't say "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Activision \ Call of Duty 2 \". Do I need to change it to where CoD 2 is in my library? (All my Steam games are on my SSD, but that isn't an issue).

You can change the file location, of course. But don't forget to copy only the mod1936sp_eng folder.

Man, I don't know what it is, but I cannot get this dang mod to install. I know I've got the installer booted and installing correctly, and I'm pretty sure I'm accounting for the file locations being different. But somewhere late I'm messing up, because when I make the shortcut it does absolutely nothing-the game itself is totally unchanged.

I wish someone showed a video of it being installed or something, because I can't even seem to tell what's up. My guess is I'm either picking the wrong files, or the shortcut isn't overriding/working with the base files.
install it again in resourcemonitor from taskmananger look for hdd expand and see where it put the files from that process and try to put it in steammaps/common cod2 try again. what i think is wrong

On December 23 of last year, I told this person to look at my guide so that he could install it without problems. But since it seems that he doesn't listen to me, I can't do more for him.

I followed the instructions from your guide when I first tried to install it and it didn't work. I went, uninstalled and reinstalled CoD 2 onto my PC and tried again, no luck. I know I'm following said guide properly, the problem isn't that. The issue is for whatever reason, the shortcut refuses to be compatible with the mod files regardless of how I try to install.

I'm definitely listening and trying my best, the problem is something I can't see. That isn't on me, although I understand your annoyance here.

You must be doing something wrong.

Yeah nah, same thing happening to me. I have followed every step EXACTLY but whenever I launch, the campaign is completely unchanged
