How to join a multiplayer online server. This worked out for me!

After solving the black screen problem when launching CoD2MP_s.exe in windows 10, i.e., Plugging something in the Microphone input,it doesnt have to be a mic (just google "plug audio" and see what I'm talking about), and then run CoD2MP_s.exe in compatibility mode XP service pack 3.

Then I used the command "connect" followed by an IP "64.94.238.161:28960" I found in " http://www.gametracker.com/search/cod2/US/? ". When I tried to download the mods, which are necessary to play in the server, I noticed that It was impossible for me to join since the game could not download 45mb !!!!!! due to a very very very low Transfer rate!!
In order to join the server and play multiplayer online, I had to dowload the server's files from " http://www.gooutlawclan.com/cod2/outlawz28/server/outlawz28/ ". to find this page I googled the addres, "outlawz28/", wich appeared in the screen when i tried to dowload the server's file after using the command "connect 64.94.238.161:28960"

Once I dowloaded "e28.iwd" and "f28.iwd" I pasted them in a folder called "outlawz28", and then put this folder in my COD2 folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 2)

It's almost 2017 and i'm a windows 10 user. COD2 works perfectly both single and multiplayer.

I don't understand the "plug audio" thing... could you be more specific please? I would like to see the process please upload some screen shots with all the details, I want to play COD 2 online so bad! thank you.

You have to plug in a 3.5mm microphone/earbuds in the MICROPHONE Input at the back of your PC. This is an infamous bug with this game, and some of the later ones (WaW, CoD4).
