The crystal heart opens a room which unlocks the "Book of Monsters" mode, if you get near the end of the Crystal Tower with it still active.
As for 100%, there's more that's impossible damageless:
Darkness Armor has an undodgeable ghost in the way.
Ruth's dust clouds in the second phase combined with the floating book leave no safe spaces.
The Eye-Crab boss has an attack that's even more undodgeable than the aforementioned dust clouds.
The only potentially tricky thing I haven't done that's not those things or locked behind them is the Dream Armor, and that's because spending the money would make the Frog Knight significantly weaker (currently at 24 ATK, more than twice the next best weapon). Obviously I'd have to if I wanted 100%, but not saving that and Gungnir for last would be utter madness!
You definitely can make that jump. I just did it today on accident when I thought I was gonna fall and ended getting by it unscathed.
