Try Monkey Island it is a famous series. Although, the puzzles are not the same, and there are argumentation puzzles. But for the most part, everything will make sense at the end. If you like pirate stories and voodoo, you will like it.

Runaway is also good, just don't buy the last one. The characters are just boring.

I was going to recommend syberia and runaway. Deponia is also really funny if you don't mind cartoon graphics/humor. Another adventure series you may want to check out is longest journey.

Runaway is a good serie, I really liked the first one. Monkey island is my favorite. You could also go for yesterday, similar to Runaway as it's from the same studio. You could also go for the Ankh-series.
