That verifies it then: the crash is about one of the dlls or the exe not being compiled specifically with xp support. The beta versions is the same as release gameplay wise so you can just play that. We'll make the current beta an official release after testing it for a while.
Thank you! I will use the update_beta version on Win XP =)
P.S. On Windows 7 SP1 I had no problems with the release version.
Does this happen with update_beta branch as well?
I bought after the upgrade.
Sorry, what I meant was the Crimsonland branch version in Steam. You can switch it to update_beta by right clicking Crimsonland in your Steam games library, and selecting Properties. Use the Betas tab there to toggle your game between the latest stable or the latest beta release named update_beta. The beta version should be stable and identical to the release version at this point, so it's safe to use it as well.
No, not on Linux or Mac yet as we (again) need to update our OpenGL rendering platform because of the improvements we've made for Neon Chrome. Crimsonland (and all our games) use the same low level tech, and once we updated Crimsonland project to the latest version of the tech (with improved performance and fixes to resolution selection), it needs to use the latest interface versions on all platforms.
However, we did make sure that the latest Windows update_beta works with Wine. (I do know it's not the same but still.)
Whaat? Both release and update_beta? Have you tried rebooting? Does this happen other games?
Has the game worked OK before? While we haven't run it on double GPUs, it should be pretty standard use of D3D9 interfaces...
