Grim Deal was the same.
Final Revenge is okay, but definitely one of those "least worst" picks. Also the final explosion is very anticlimatic.
Fatal Lottery should indeed get a boost.
Highlander is pretty good if you combine it with Dodger and Ninja. If you are lucky, you can run around for very long without getting killed.
Regression Bullets is another late-game perk. In late game you cannot afford to stop reloading. Although with fast-firing weapons, it eats up your score too fast.
Ammunition Within worked better when it did the same as Regression IMO. You could offset it with regeneration, if you had Highlander then health counted as a secondary ammo pool. And when paired with a shield, it didn't drain health. But that has been changed to the crap slow firebullets (not as good as nonstop Plasma Cannon or Splitter gun barrage).
Jinxed randomly poisons, freezes, or kills some enemies. It can kill enemies in late game when your gun cannot touch them, allowing you to still spawn powerups (I agree that this use is marginal, but getting free random kills is good). It isn't that great, but supposedly got more hidden effects now.
Perk Expert and Master are super important, since it lowers your chances of getting useless perks. I think it should lower the perk cap a bit more though, since you do waste 1-2 perks on this.
Living Fortress was more useful before, since you also had more perks that encouraged standing still. In the classic Crimsonlend, you could combine Living Fortress, Angry Reloader, Man Bomb (used to spawn 8 ion shots if you stood still for a while), mr. melee, dodger, regen, Stationary Reloader, Fast Reload, Hot Temper, and telekinetic. Then get a uzi, and you were spawn nonstop shower of plasma rain, while being nearly untouchable. You could make it to the endgame like that. It was a powerful tactic.
In the current game, it used to give you 3x reload, which made some weapons like Plasma Cannon and Rocket Swarmer become super powerful in both early and late game.
Blow Torch is actually one of the better weapons. It does killer damage, has gigantic ammo clip, and low reloads.
Bullet weapons all suck, except the Minigun. Give it Uranium bullets, fastshot, and Bullet Greaser, and it can clear the screen completely on one reload.
Plasma Rifle is easily the worst gun in the game, I agree.
Stationary loader's freeze works whether you stand still or not. When the gun reloads and fires very quickly, you get enough cycles of freeze chances to pretty much get a ring of ice around you - moving or not.
With MRS, I try to combine fast loading, angry reloader, fire faster, and everything that gives me more bullets in the clip, plus radioactive. With pulse gun everything possible to increase damage as well as fast loading, angry reloader, and fire faster, plus radioactive.
With this sort of weapon and perk loadout, you actively avoid the pickups that prevent reloading; you score well through using that freeze. Stand still when convenient; move when you have a reason to move.
