Engine swap no movement
Downloaded the free trial just to see if i would like it (leaning towards yes). I found a new engine that seemes compatible with the starter car. Ran on petrol. Swapped it out and it wouldnt move.. put the original engine back in and same thing. Car would start but would not move. Tried resetting car and still no movement.

Make sure you got a shifter and the 3 pedals. otherwise it will start but not move.
Yep had all that. And tool them off and reinstalled.
i know it sounds stupid but a fix that worked for me was taking off a wheel and reinstalling it

Sometimes having the parking brake engaged, revving and disengaging the parking brake will help. And don't turn while trying to get moving.

I'm not sure about the demo, but if there's an option "weight affects vehicles" that may be the culprit. Switching it on (expecting more realism) can result in vehicles no longer moving after changes of the engine. Set it to off if possible and you're fine to go.

Perhaps the new engine needed a much higher capacity battery and you trying to start the engine emptied the battery? You need about 65 % capacity to start your car.
Some engines need more than 50 Ah.

Possibly but then when i put the previous engine in it should have worked but did not.

Only if you didn't empty the battery by trying to start the bigger engine. ;-) But it's just a theory, game is in EA after all.
