Bug report - Equipment

Situation is as follows : friend started a game and invited me to join.

Bug 1 : I can interact with most things, however some items only appear for him. Once he picks them up and drops them I can see them.

Bug 2 : For slottable equipment, I can pick them up and equip them. However the game seems to have me stuck in a perpetual state of selecting a slot to assign it to. For example. I pick up an AK, press 1 to assign it, but I cannot put the AK away. Press 2 while it's equipped, it just assigns the AK to both slot 1 and slot 2.

Attempted a re-log, no fix. Dropped the AK, picked up a flashlight to assign it to 2. Can't put away flashlight. Have to drop the item in order to do anything else.
