[Bug] UAZ transmission auto/manu not working

Preface: I once switched from automatic to manual due to terrible translation (transmission should be translated from gearbox (boîte de vitesse) to Getriebe or if Übertragung must be used then it is Kraftübertragung, also manual may be translated to manuell or händisch but not Handbuch which means a printed manual). I thought it may have something to do data transmission for multiplayer....

So here's the thing: If I am playing a new game or load a savegame I have saved I can't drive the UAZ 452 anymore. Setting transmission to manual blocks it from any keyboard input. It's simply impossible to select any gear. Setting the transmission to automatic results in the car not driving although the engine revs up. Hitting the keys for gear up/ gear down changes some settings and the car can drive, but only downhill, on level road and never backwards or uphill. It won't go fast also... From the look of it it seems that the UAZ wants to use manual and automatic at the same time in automatic setting and none of them in manual.

The kicker: If I join a game I can drive just fine. If I download a game I can drive just fine. If I start a new game, no points.

Yes, I verified the files: nope.
Yes, I removed the savegame folder: nope
Yes, I uninstalled the game and removed the savegames: nope
Yes, I reinstalled the game and got all the basic options, but still: nope

The Lada drives fine, on automatic, but I can't get the UAZ to run.

Solved: Uninstalled game, restarted computer without steam active, deleted game subfolder under %user%/appdata/local, restarted computer again, installed game from fresh download. Now things work again. Funny that checking the integrity of installed game files didn't show any errors though.
