can't join server

We with friend can't connect. Either me or her create multiplayer game, we find each other in "Join Game" section, enter password and... Nothing happens. We create game for two players, is there something I missing?

Same problem. After a few minutes it comes a random Gamer on my server. So the function is there but to join emmidiatly it's not

All I have found for this is to restart the game and try again. It's what me and my friend have been doing. It's not 100% either, sometimes you have to restart multiple times before it works

Start a server with a password (to keep out randoms) open your Steam friends list, click the arrow next to the name of your friend, click invite to game. Rinse repeat for the others.

Don't invite them while you are in a car btw, stay out of it till they are joined, otherwise it may shove them under ground
