Truck does not move

I found a truck, fitted a petrol engine and a 71 amp battery. The engine starts, but I can't drive

You have to make sure it has gas, clutch, and brake pedal. Also might need a shift lever to get it into gear.

It worked when I installed a diesel engine

You need the 180 amp battery

If you've attached the cargo box and enabled the option to allow weight to affect the vehicle, that's the problem.
The same thing happens to me, even with the giant diesel engine and a turbo.
Currently, on my run, I have a "train" with the minivan as the locomotive, with the truck and a Toyota in the back. It's slow, but it climbs hills well.

fyi, I guess you can remove the pedals, so you might want to check any car you find has them.
