Are you saying they should make this game a free to play game?
Yes. to an extent. or add DLC's to add to it

Free to play would be OK, but they'd have to change their business model and that certainly isn't something Saber is ever going to do. We'll continue to get retail DLC so long as Saber decides to keep maintaining the game. I'm suspect once the profit threshold dips to a no-profit situation, they'll shut it all down. They aren't really incentivizing people to play their game either which is needed to make any free to play model for this game, successful.
Just charge us $40 $50 or whatever for the game and we will buy it to help fund the project. No need to have paid DLCs that we have to constantly buy ffs. Most of us would rather spend more on a one-time purchase for full access just give us a price.
game development costs money mate

Pump your brakes. Chill. The game isn't even a retail release yet and you're raging about DLC.

We're just having open discussion on the subject of free to play and DLC backing. Some games actually survive and get maintained longer because of DLCs. Sometimes free to play games backed by fairly priced DLCs make projects more successful and worth maintaining than if a dev were to charge a price for their game and DLCs on top. A one and done fee isn't always the best model to support future development of certain projects.

Take War Thunder for example. It's free to play. It's been quite successful and with so many DLC options available, a person can pick and choose what they want to add to their play experience. The game has been free to play for many years now and shows no signs of dying off anytime soon. That is just one example among many that prove a free to play model can be beneficial for the developer and gamers alike. DLCs just have to be fairly priced or it can spell the death of a free to play game.

Workshop support also can go a long way in keeping a game alive too. Charge a one and done fee for the game and let the community take the wheel with workshop support, to make more game content.

i agree with this. this is an example of a well written arguement to a debate. a civil one. thank you
Just don't, no "Free" 2 play, lootboxes, microtransactions. DLC maps, cars, why not for reasonable price in reasonable amount.
From the discord FAQ:
?: What is the price going to be?
A: $15-$25 and a promotion at launch. Localization of some prices are also being considered.

?: When is the game releasing?
A: There is no firm release date set. The aim is for December 2024, but if development needs more or less time, it will be decided and announced.

Hell no. How the hell are they supposed to make a living?

I hope they mean December 2025; this has good potential but needs a LOT of work right now.

Lots of ways for that to happen. The War Thunder devs and publisher are still putting bread on the table with a free to play model. Any company can do it if they do it properly.
