very bad long drive clone
sorry but make it less obvious.

and if you try to make a clone, try to fix its biggest problem: being a buggy piece of *

copying a game and its bugs instead of making it good, why?

And it's very unfair that you're making an example of a 2 month old video ? Do you think people are stupid ? Can't they see that ? There were mistakes like this back then... and you're making an example out of this? How many updates have been released since then ? You picked a bug from 2 months ago ! There were physics bugs then, but a lot of things have been fixed since then and a lot of little things have been added to the demo. Shame on you for your immense malice. Horisons beats the Long Drive game in every way (Graphics, physics, collision physics models, houses the zombies model the humor in the UFO and radio transmitter conversations) .... anyone who doesn't see this is blind or just malicious like you. Dislike your YT video is no accident either.
you see the little "/s" there. That means sarcasm. Showing I am mocking the other post. So why are you replying to me? Reading comprehension of elementery class?

Yes, it was a misunderstanding, because I'm Hungarian 🤦‍♂️😁I don't understand this /s slang and its meaning ....

@DEADEND I figured that had a part in not understanding what it meant. To clarify its purpose better I'll explain. As HTML (a type of programming that was used for websites when the internet first became mainstream with websites) styling conventions evolved, the /s notation was adapted for online communication. Its original purpose was to strike through text, but it eventually became associated with sarcasm, reflecting the changing needs of online communication.

The “/“ is to denote an end tag in html where you close an element.

So /s in this online forum world is to say “end sarcasm”

No, it does not mean that. /s is used to indicate sarcasm or irony in a statement. It doesn't mean 'end sarcasm'.

We’re saying the same thing kind of that it is to indicate sarcasm but it has nothing to do with a strikethrough, logically why would it?

It’s semantics really but think about where “/“ comes from? It’s an end html and/or XML tag.

“<html>” = open
“</html>” = end

Whether people know or not or make up their own interpretation that is why people put it at the end of the statement in the online world to say ‘end sarcasm’ - to indicate that what you started to say was sarcasm, and that you are now ‘ending’ your sarcastic statement as a kind of sign off.

Edit - above link don’t work but click it and type “/s” in the wiktionary search.

Thanks for the information guys. I also learned something today... whether it is when /s I see I know it means sarcasm. Sorry to blurt out there were just a lot of malicious posts in this thread about the Horisons game....

Not only that, but this demo probably already broke the max player count of The Long Drive that's been around half a decade, in under a year. XD

I'm sure when The Long Drive update drops on the 25th, about 900 players will be ecstatic to find out that they waited a whole year for nothing special.

Blatantly Obvious Long Drive clone
Has some promise though, looking forward to seeing how the multiplayer handles on release. And how much content it gets as well or if it's just going to be another abandonware game.

It's not a clone. It's a game with a similar concept. It's already got more content and is better as a whole, even as a demo. Genesz's game is undercooked spaghetti. Even after a year of him and his bros working on an update that dropped yesterday, they produced something worse than what they already have in the stable branch. They even had the gall to call that alpha slop a beta.
DEADEND Sep 27, 2024 @ 2:28am
The Long Drive has not received any updates for 16 months. Yesterday the anniversary multi coop test called the beta came out. This is what Genesz has been working on for 16 months under the heading of rewriting the game code. We've got a new map generation that is, to put it mildly, in a state of opinion, which is to say, terrible. The paths are going back and forth and the textures are separating from the ground levels. I feel like this is an alibi update, of course sticking on that it's just a multi test like the first one was. (Here's nothing to get it right) We got different starting points like the village. Small track sections with floating cube ugly houses. They didn't even do it right to have the houses at ground level but just float back together. Somewhat improved the multi part of the game but the whole game lags the same way when playing in multiplayer unfortunately. Although less than the first test. There is nothing on the map. A few houses are far apart, but some people couldn't find anything for an hour. The texture, grass, snow land biome differences are not in sight. A bare map compiled back generated. So we got the new map generation which is horribly flawed, and we got a dev menu to go with it, which is just vomited all over the game menu with a wooden stick for everything. We can call things off with that. Don't tell me that was 16 months of work. That car (lamborgini) car model is 2 days to make with a few new weapons if they aren't free or purchased assets. Writing multi code took all the science out of it? For me it's a big disappointment I was hoping to see The Long Drive move forward. What I don't understand is how some people are swooning over the new update. How good it is. Well, it's not. I think The Long Drive is now what it used to be in the old days of all things cheap (MODEL HOUSES) 5 years later unfortunately full of non-functioning features. What I see is that they don't have the knowledge to do it properly. After 5 years, it is now obsolete in all areas. I no longer trust it. I'll come back to it when a really relevant update comes. So much for The Long Drive. Luckily there are many games to play and Horisons will come out which will be an instatnt buy for sure. :steamhappy:

I dunnot care who copied who... Just came to say that atleast these devs got multiplayer to work \o/ there has been same kind of games than long drive ages around so who cares...
EDIT: I played long drive multiplayer beta long time ago and it was unplayable as long drive was never written to be multiplayer and multiplayer physic based engines are hard...
