MangaDex is perfectly fine if you upload as a scanlation, I uploaded my comic there years ago and it's going pretty well - https://mangadex.org/title/7485fd24-e676-42d4-8005-98366bf596bd/the-wi-fi-love-story
NamiComi on the other hands, require you to own copyright to everything presented in your comic, so unless you don't use any custom asset, I'd say avoid it.
i asked a few days ago on the mangadex discord about uploading it there as i had some questions, especially about if they even would accept anything from Manga Maker Comipo. i dmed one of the admins days ago but no response, but seeing you post this makes me feel ALOT better seeing a series made on MMC on there. I might check your series out now thanks to it lol
the only person that did reply told me NamiComi would be better for self publish stuff, i never did say yet that my thing is on mmc but yeah the much stricter copyright has me very worried as i have used background stuff i got online with some ai art too. so i was actually considering replacing all the background stuff online to be safe. but if i can upload to MangaDex, that would save me alot of effort.
Maybe you can answer questions for me since the admins wont?
MD staff are busy building their website so things like self-published stuff may take a while to get answer. One way you can get around this is to publish your comic as a scanlation (In my case, I set the original language of mine to "Vietnamese" so the English chapter I upload are counted as scanlation) - this way, the comic needs no further discussion and you don't have to worry about copyrighted stuff.
As far as I'm concerned, MangaDex is open to all kind of comic work, as long as you don't actively monetize stuff that you don't own (in your case, AI / online background for example). There are some house rules to be mindful about (for example, you are not allowed to upload only a few chapters and advertise like "hey, come read the rest of my patreon" or something), otherwise it's easily the best choice to use MangaDex for MMC-created comic (whether you uses custom asset or not, as MD doesn't care unless they get DMCA'd, which is unlikely since we aren't monetizing anything)
i finally got to talk to a dm about it & i showed them your series as an example of MMC stuff uploaded, i need to get samples together to show them before i can post it. so i'm polishing Volume 1 beforehand. i can only hope for the best
Remember, the reason they ask for discussion is only if you want to publish your comic as original work. Even in the event that it didn't qualify, you can always publish as a scanlation (if you check my comic, you'll see it has English and Vietnamese chapters), in which case you won't need to ask for permission at all.
not sure how scanlations work in comparison. would it need to have another language? because its only in english
"Scanlation" just mean you take an original work and translate to another language. In my case, even though I write the story in English, I produce an alternate version in Vietnamese (my native language), upload it first, mark the comic as "Vietnamese", so it automatically becomes a scanlation when English chapters are uploaded.
However, MangaDex also accept works that uses copyrighted material (i.e original manga page and insert your own dialogue), one such case I have there is the Shomin Sample doujin (This one use the original manga's page, but rearranged and add an original story on top of it) - https://mangadex.org/title/42305804-352d-472d-8955-bdf9584dae94
Turning your comic into a scanlation is as easy as giving it a non-English "original language" and upload a few chapters - afterward, you're completely free to upload English chapter, and they'd be treated as if they were translated from whatever language you mark your comic as, even if you write your story in English. The easiest way is to use Google TL and turn English to Spanish, French or something, and you can upload it as the first chapter to make your comic "Spanish".
I can go in more depth and write you a guide if you like, this is just something I quickly came up with.
maybe one day, i don't plan on doing my series in another language atm & you make it sounds like it needs to be in other languages. but it doesn't matter right now because it got approved! LETS GO!
That's great, at least it's less painful to upload to MD since you don't have to worry about BS takedown request :D

i know we can do that, but i cant since i don't own everything i used in my series & i honestly doubt anyone would by my stuff lol
