Manga maker ComiPo!

Does this allow importing of other 3d models and characters?
I would maybe be interested in this for it's ease of use if it's possible to import other 3d character models, poses, accessories, etc to this. Sure I could just use something else entirely, but I feel like having something as purpose focused as this would allow for an easier workflow in the actual creation of a narrative, but I think I would want to use my own characters, not just bundled or DLC ones. Is it possible to import characters and other models in 3d formats and use internal or external pose data? More specificially, does this support Collada import? It seems like that would be the most ideal format to support for something like this as it's supported by many 3d software and doesn't require $3000 ones to import/export.

You can import 3D models, but they cannot be posed. You can't modify or add any poses either. Don't buy this program.
Not a Bear, I'm certain you're wrong. 3d posing always comes in two varieties, skeletal or morphs. Which one is in the csd file and how it's implemented is probably the solution. It's not something impossible to do... just figuring out what needs to be done.

Through this site, http://touasa.cocolog-nifty.com/wannazau/2011/05/po3d-ae3b.html , there's a mannequin file with a pdf inside the zip. The entire content is in Japanese comic form, but it does appear to be how to create an attached accessory to a model. (like glasses, bow, ecetra.) I'm sure there's more tutorials floating about the web that haven't been translated yet.

As someone who got the software for almost 2 years: Yes, you can get your own model into ComiPo, however, you need to know how to use Maya and MMD (MikuMikuDance). Basically, how to model, rig, and pose stuff, then your model would be good in ComiPo.

(:robot:Which kinda defeats your purpose for using ComiPo if you can do good modeling/rigging in Maya and good posing in MMD... ...)
Yes I'm fairly well experienced with Blender and there should be exporters for formats this uses, I just feel like this might be an easy way to get into doing 3d manga, but I would want the flexibility to put my own things into it. Wasn't sure if it allowed that since it wasn't stated in the features. I guess the workflow here would be easier I think, because you can just take your posed models and focus on building scenes and stories and not have to think of the more technical aspects after that.

Pressing the F4 key while ComiPo! is open will activate the File > Import User 3D Data. The file import box that follows will accept .csu, .mpq, and .obj files. The typical challenges of importing 3D models in other modelers is the only challenge you have. The render options in ComiPo are a lot of fun.

The rest of the talk was simply trying to have all the toys, importing a model with several saved pose options and saved accessory options. This kind of thing is the most elusive part of this program due to a lack of organized instructions.

Import files 3D > .csu(the ComiPo format), .mpq (Metasequoia), .obj (most 3D modelers)
Import files 2D > .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .tif, .wmf, .emf
