Since your card appears in the audio device list the game is able initialize the device correctly, which makes it strange that it is not producing sound. We had another report from someone that had problems with the same audio card in this thread http://steamcommunity.com/app/262390/discussions/0/558751179622238254/. We will investigate this further and see if we can log more information to find what can be causing the issue, unfortunately we don't have access to an audio card that causes issues with the game so it makes it a bit harder to debug.
Someone in the other thread mentioned this work-around, "When I run it through default it doesn't work but when I run it through Line 1 via virtual audio cable it works perfectly fine". Maybe that can be of help until we've found what's causing the issue.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help right now.
One thing you could do that would be super helpful is to run the Bass test applications, which will help us identify if it is something we are doing or it's the audio library that your card is conflicting with.
You can download Bass from this website http://www.un4seen.com/. In the unzipped folder you will find a file called bass.dll, copy that into [bass path]\c\bin\. Then from there run basstest.exe, click on Add under the Stream window, choose any .ogg file from the Cloudbuilt directory, highlight the loaded file and click Play. If that works try running 3dtest.exe, add any audio file, and click Play.
If you could help us out with this it would be really valuable.
DEMI_BALANSE_LOST_01 works fine
music-day.ogg works fine, I went for a longer sound file and worked fine also
Did a 3dtest, played Kalimba from sample music, worked fine also
any other tests i can do or run?
Are you using the manafacturer drivers, Uni-driver, or the built in windows ones?
Sorry it's taken a little while to reply, last week was really hectic. I realized now that we are using the version of the bass.dll that does not include mp3 support and not the one directly under the bass folder. It shouldn't make a difference as the dll we use removes something we don't use, but just to be 100% sure it would be really helpful if you or someone else with the same problem could run the tests but with the bass.dll from the game folder instead.
Going by the assumption that it works in the test and not in the game we'll have to look into how the test code differs from the implementation in the game and see if we can figure out what could be causing the problems with this particular card.
Thanks for the tip about the drives A.Y.B.A.B.T.U, if that solves the problem for anyone please let us know.
