So this game has TONS of weapons with a lot of upgrades for each and I'm gonna (over time) update this thread with a brief description of all the weapons. The list below is MY OPINION and should not be taken as fact.

SECRET WEAPONS AT THE VERY BOTTOM!

This is just the guns for now. I may get to the bombs and missiles later on.

********************************************EARLY GAME********************************************

* Daisycutter - first weapon you start with can be upgraded more than any weapon in the game! Eventually it tops out @ around 670,000 credits and spews tons of lead in 3 different arcs. Creates very little heat (does create a fair bit more when upgraded) and when upgraded does good damage. 8/10

* La Fontaine - Cheapest weapon @ only 85,000 to fully upgrade but its decent for early game and has wide spread to hit targets that may be out of your main attack range. Very little heat. 6/10

* Pink Panther - SCATTER GUN. This weapon spews tons of bullets out in front of you and has really good damage if you get in close. Also good for knocking out waves of weak enemies + it looks cool when fully upgraded! Bit more expensive though @ 598,000 to max. 7/10

* Radiator Mk 2. - This one has a really interesting attack arc and gets even more interesting as you upgrade it. The 2 waves of bullets that go in the 45 degree-ish arcs are quite powerful so its good for getting enemies below and above. Creates a bit of heat but nothing too bad. 220,000 to max which is a good price! 7/10

* Autotrack minigun - Another cheap one @ only 180,000 to fully upgrade. Decent damage for the price but has issues tracking fast enemies that are going above and below you. A good weapon to place in a Rear slot though if you can't think of anything better. Little heat. 6/10

* Pulse Gun - Higher DPS than most early game weapons but its heat generation is just killer and subtracts from what would be a good, fast blaster. Pretty cheap though @ only 175,000 to max. Best to use only with Wanderwurst and its good cooling. 3/10 - higher on Wanderwurst.

* Scorpio Plasma - @ 150,000 to max its pretty cheap and does nice DPS but its bullets start small and grow but always remain slooow. The slow bullets are really its weakness and make it hard to strike fast targets that zoom by unless you're right in front of them. 4/10

* Tectonic Laser - 226,000 to fully max is very cheap for the power this weapons brings but sadly its fixed at around a 45 degree downwards arc which means it can't be used as a forward blaster. Good for blasting slower targets that you get above as well as targets on the ground. Creates little heat. 5/10 - would be a lot higher if it was a forward blaster!

* Tornado Railgun - Oh baby this is a damn fine weapon though a bit more expensive @ 470,000 to max. Fast and MANY projectiles pepper enemies for great damage. Bear in mind its second to last upgrade splits it into two 30 degree arcs which make it hard to hit enemies dead on but its final upgrade fills in the empty forward space with MORE bullets. Does create some heat but nothing horrible. 9/10

* Acid Gun - Great damage and very little heat but its 40 degree downwards arc and limited range hurt it. Its really meant for taking out ground targets and troops but its handy for larger, slow moving ships that you can get above. Comes in @ 350,000 to max which is a bit much imo. 3/10

* Skywalker Hypergun - Big brother to the Pulse Gun, this baby fires VERY fast and in a cool wave like pattern on high upgrade levels. GREAT damage for forward blasting and its projectiles move very quickly to boot. Creates barely more heat than the much weaker Pulse Gun but does tons more damage making it a better weapon. Towards mid-game weapon @ 410,000 to max out. Still creates some serious heat so really only usable on Wanderwurst and ZZ Rolls or better. 7/10 - higher with a great cooling system!

* Superkiller Mk.1 - basically an upgraded Daisycutter with a tighter spread of bullets so you don't miss any shots. Good DPS and very little heat generation - less heat than even a fully upgraded Daisycutter and they do about the same damage. 670,000 to fully max puts it almost towards early mid-game and same price as full upgraded Daisycutter. 7/10

* Manic Miner - Hits BRUTALLY hard but only fires straight up and below you making it a rather hard weapon to use, sadly. Still, its another 'filler' weapon and excels at wasting enemies above and below you. Little heat and maxes out @ 602,000. HOWEVER, with the Rotary Cages upgrade you can indeed turn this into a forward/backward blaster! 10/10 with Rotary Cages and 6/10 without.

* JC Superstar - Don't let its star bullets fool you... they hit quite HARD! This weapon is the ultimate scattergun shooting bullets in all 8 cardinal directions for 360 degrees of pain. A great 'filler' weapon that creates very little heat for its damage potential. Borderline mid-game weapon @ 800,000 to max out. 8/10 if you've got the cash and are looking for a weapon that spreads damage but much less if looking for a concentrated fire weapon.

********************************************MID GAME********************************************

* VX-Masterblaster Laser - Normally you'd save the best for last but screw it, we're gonna start with the best! This is a damn fine weapon thats one of the first full-piercing weapons meaning it can shoot through unlimited targets AND walls/land/buildings. Tons of damage, rapid fire, an easy way to get the kill 60 troops in 1-shot achievement... I could go on. Its only real downside is it requires a good cooling system or a Snowman 3000 heatsinker but its damage is well worth it. 1,800,000 to max. 10/10

* Charge Generator - The whole super damage 'melee' weapons really just don't work when actually playing a mission and sadly this is what this weapon is. Sure it does intense damage but you gotta be RIGHT in the enemies face. 1,400,000 to max out which makes it fire faster and have a slightly larger blast. Minor heat mostly because it fires slowly. 2/10

* Blackfist Mortar - A decent forward blaster but @ 1,550,000 to max it just doesn't impress overall. Upgrades cause it to fire faster and with a larger spread thats got an interesting look to it. The heat it makes really shouldn't be an issue at this point in the game. 6/10

* Boomerang Blaster - This weapon looks badass, especially when fully upgraded, but sadly it hits like a dead fish. 1,260,000 to max just isn't worth it for the damage you get out of it. It has a LARGE forward spread that can hit in a wide area to the front. 4/10 - looks awesome but the damage is just HORRIBLE.

* Snowman 3000 - This isn't actually a weapon but instead it absorbs heat letting you fire a lot longer before maxing out. Rather pricey but if you're running heat heavy weapons its a godsend. Good choice to put in a rear weapon slot if you arn't using homing/autotrack weapons there. 375,000 and doesn't have any upgrades. 9/10 if looking to improve your heat sink - would be 10/10 but that price is steep...

* CHAOS Particle Generator - NOW THIS is an interesting weapon. It fires a lame looking spark at really slow speeds but once it hits a target it multiplies many times! Its quite something to look at and it does decent damage but the slow speed of the sparks make it next to useless in open levels so its best used in tight spaces like that insect tunnel level. Creates a tiny amount of heat thats easily ignored. 2,520,000 to max is just way too pricey to make it a commonly used weapon. 4/10 - higher in tight space levels.

* Electroball - Another novelty weapon that is unique in that it can ONLY be slotted into a rear slot. Basically two balls will shoot out to the left and right of the screen and zap targets with a bolt of electricity that goes between them. The balls will slowly travel up and down to stay level with the ship. Good damage and creates ZERO heat but all-in-all its just too slow to be of much use. 900,000 and ZERO upgrades mean its not expensive by mid-game. 5/10 - higher if you just want a 'filler' weapon for a rear slot.

* Hammerhead - Upgraded version of the Superkiller this is a simple but effective forward blaster that creates VERY little heat so it can be spammed all day long. Upgrades have it shooting more and larger bullets at a higher velocity. 1,580,000 to max. Its a good choice for frontal firepower. 7/10

* NTR Sandman Laser - As its description says its the big brother to the Autotrack Minigun and while it still has issues with tracking fast enemies flying past you, it does a much better job than the Autotrack due to its much higher shot velocity. Does rather impressive damage for a reasonable amount of heat! 1,580,000 to max is about par for the course on mid-game weapons. 8/10 if you're looking for an autotrack weapon.

* Swarm - One of the first true homing guns the Swarm fires many mechanical wasps that... swarm to the nearest enemy. Great damage if all wasps go for the same target and of course its homing powers are very nice. Its upgrades cause it to pump out ever more wasp bots and its fun to watch. Small amount of heat and comes in @ 1,550,000 to max. 7/10

* Zombie Blues Plasma Gun - lol, this weapon takes a dump all over the Swarm and if you liked the Swarm you'll love this baby. Fires ghostly blue skulls that home-in on enemies and explode for decent damage. Creates very little heat and the skulls move quickly and fire fast when upgraded. 1,885,000 to max is barely 300k more than the Swarm. 9/10

* Xetec Moongun -1,500,000 to max is great deal for the fire power... sadly its got a limited range when fully upgraded which is rather strange considering early upgrades have unlimited range; this weapon does indeed transform a lot when upgrading so you may actually want to leave it at lower upgrade levels if you favor full screen range. Moderate heat. 7/10 - would be higher if it kept full screen range at max upgrade level...

* S.T.Y.X - This weapon has a high initial purchase price but its upgrades are quite cheap and comes in @ 1,450,000 to max. This weapon fires a long cloud of green gas at about 40% screen range that can pierce ANYTHING including walls and multiple targets which is a GREAT bonus. Fully maxed its a constant stream of gas as opposed to the bursts of gas at lower upgrades. Creates a fair bit of heat at max upgrade level but nothing horrible. 8/10 if the limited range doesn't clash with your play style.

* F-8E Plasma Gun - Jesus. This is another gun that transforms a lot via upgrades and looks pretty damn impressive... sadly its heat generation is balls out insane on higher upgrades and its damage just isn't worth it. Defs gets badass points, though. Comes in @ 2,100,000 to max with its damage to heat ratio hurting it a lot. 5/10 - higher with great cooling system.

* X-ray Disruptor - Coming in @ 2,760,000 to max is a bit misleading as its initial purchase price is 780,000. This one fires rapid green waves in an X pattern... for tons of damage which is necessary considering its price! Quite a high powered weapon system with higher but still workable heat generation. A good weapon if you're looking for a 'scatter' gun type. 8/10

********************************************End Game********************************************

* Belzebub Mortar - Very solid forward fire power at a resonable amount of heat that fires a burning ball that explodes into 2 submunitons that deal good damage. As you upgrade this weapon it will fire faster and for more damage and at its max upgrade it will explode into 4 submunitions rather than just 2. Quite a good weapon that maxes @ 1,850,000. 8/10

* Banzai Rammer - A novelty weapon that creates a large jet-powered rammer that flies out in front of you that will try to follow your movements to always stay in front of you. Deals intense damage but is even more awkward to use than the Charge Generator. Has the added bonus of being able to block enemy projectiles. Upgrades make it larger and move faster/deal more dmg, 2,730,000 to max. 2/10 - just not at ALL to my playstyle but others may enjoy it.

* F-8000 Creamator - Wowza, if you loved the S.T.Y.X then this is a must have. Basically a flamethrower in space this weapon does massive dmg to anything caught in its flame + its got full-piercing which is great. Its single upgrade turns the flame blue and extends its range/damage. Does create some NASTY heat but nothing a good heat sinker won't help. Maxes @ 3,400,000. 8/10 if you don't mind its limited range and high heat.

* Cy-beria Heat Sinker - Big brother to the Snowman this 'weapon' doesn't fire anything but instead greatly increases your heat venting speed allowing you to spam high heat weapons a lot longer. Has several upgrades that improve it even more and maxes @ 2,000,000. 10/10 if looking to rid yourself of heat troubles.

* Hexagun - Fires 'walls' of red energy hexes that blink in and out as they speed along the screen. Large area of effect, massive damage, mild heat... maxes out @ 3,240,000. OVERPOWERED/10. Seriously... this weapon needs a damage nerf.

* Kaizer Franz 650 - Suppose to be a giant, super hard hitting cannon that generates very little heat, but sadly, its really lacking on the hard hitting part. Can't recommend this weapon at all as it comes in @ 4,120,000 to max which is just absurd considering its lacking damage output. Its projectiles also travel rather slowly at low upgrade levels which is a bad for hitting faster targets... 1/10 namely for its absurd price tag.

* Sunray Bozotron - GREAT damage and little heat but sadly its final upgrade has it split into two beams that arc at about 35 degrees meaning its no longer a forward blaster! Strange... really good against the last boss with a split like that but still I think it loses a lot by no longer having straight ahead firepower - you can use it with the Rotary Cages to get around that issue, though. 3,400,000 to max but like most end-game weapons it can't really compre to the Hexagun. 7/10 - would be higher if its final upgrades didn't divide its firepower!

* Terrion Emitter - Ouch... just not a good weapon. Limited range, slower rate of fire, higher than average heat. Just bleh. Basically it fires green 'waves' ahead of you and as you upgrade it fires them faster and in more areas. But, even when maxxed and with all waves hitting the same target its damage just can't compare to some other end game weapons. 3,800,000 to max just isn't anywhere near worth it. 4/10

* Tsunami Generator - Charge Generator on crack this thing fires out wave-like 'spikes' of energy that hit for CRAZY damage. I wasn't a fan of the Charge Generator but others were + this thing has a MUCH larger area of effect when upgraded. Heat generation is reasonable. Still, by the time this goes on sale you have weapons like the Hexagun already + its damn expensive @ 4,800,000 to max. 5/10

* Vortex Generator - Novelty weapon that causes blue energy balls to be fired TOWARDS you from the right side of the screen - yes, this weapon fires its weapon from the very front of the screen towards the REAR. I guess thats good for hitting the backside of certain enemies? Upgrades cause it to fire faster and to fire from BOTH ends of the screen. It would actually be a pretty good weapon if it just did a bit more damage. Slightly higher than average heat. 4,189,000 to max. 6/10

* Vulcan Disintegrator - This weapon fires invisible shots in a giant cone outwards from the ship. You can't see the shots but you can see the blue haze they create when hitting a target. Great damage and mild heat are combined to good effect. Not being able to see its shots is a bit misleading but I'd have to call this a high powered scatter gun. Only 3,000,000 to max. 8/10

* Zion Generator - The final and ultimate weapon of the energy blaster line, the Zion Generator does excellent damage via high velocity energy bolts. Like all energy blasters though it creates intense heat which is a problem but one you can get around with a few heat sinkers. 4,700,000 to max but until its nerfed you should just go with a Hexagun. 7/10

********************************************Post Game********************************************

Post game weapons are basically super weapons that are generally balls-out insanely awesome but super expensive. These are obviously the best weapons but I'll rate them based on how they stack up against their fellow Post Game weapons.

* Chronotron Rifle - While you can get this weapon well before the campaign is over its huge price will keep a vast majorty if players from being able to use it. Its an excellent weapon though that fires a full-pierce beam for huge damage. As it upgrades it gains 2 30 degree arcs of energy waves in addition to the main beam. The waves do rather light damage though and are mostly just a bonus. Surprisingly little heat generation for an energy weapon. Maxes out @ 10,000,000! 7.5/10

* Hydra Machine Gun - Oooo baby, the grand daddy of the Daisycutter and Superkiller, the Hydra has a hilariously ridiculous looking shop picture and has no less than SEVEN rotary barrels stacked together that spew out barrage after barrage of 7 SUPER damaging lead slugs. Miniscule heat generation compared to other Post Game weapons allows you to stack many of them whilst only needing 1 Heat Sinker. Its only weakness is its lack of full-pierce and sadly thats a pretty major weakness at this point... *sniffle* 10,400,000 to max. 6.5/10

* La Fontaine Mk.2 - The price of 5,600,000 to max dictates that this is Post Game weapon but wat da fuq?! Its by far the lamest of all Post Game weapons and its exactly like the Mk.1 but simply fires much larger blue ice balls. Creates more heat than Hydra Machine Gun and doesn't even do half the damage it seems. A real stinker. 3/10

* TESLA Devastator - MOTHER OF GOD! O_O This is it, the biggest heat generator weapon in the game but damn does it pump out the damage. Fires enormous sparks of energy that travel in an exaggerated up-and-down wave pattern. Its final upgrade has it firing off two waves that mirror each other. It also fires INSANELY fast when upgraded. 12,300,000 to max + you may as well toss in another 4 million for the Cy-Beria Heat Sinkers you're going to need, lol 6/10 - score suffers due to its insane heat generation.

* VX Quattro - Damn, this might produce the same or almost the same heat as the TESLA but its a vastly superior weapon. Big daddy to the VX Laser, the Quattro is just a stupidly good full-pierce weapon. Theres not much more to say... this is just a REALLY great weapon with a few Cy-Beria's to keep it cooled. Waaaay cheaper than most other Post Game weapons, too @ only 5,600,000 to max. 9/10 - loses a point for dat heat generation...

* Tsunami BETA - Oh my God its over. This is, imo, the most badass weapon in the game - imagine huge energy blades spinning at high speeds slicing into anything that gets within a half-screen of you... yep. This weapon looks amazing, does amazing damage. IT. IS. AMAZING! Its full-pierce and while it may have a limted range around you its still large enough to not matter much... just fly around and enemies will drop dead in almost the same moment the first blade cuts into them. Produces much less heat than Quattro and TESLA and maxes out @ 6,300,000. AWESOME/10.

\m/ \m/ ARMAGEDDONATOR \m/ \m/ - ROCK ON! Haha, by the time you get this you'll already be so god-like it won't even matter. This weapon costs a whopping 20,000,000 to max out and fires and huge beam of firey death across the screen for 2 seconds. You can 'drag' the beam by flying up/down and toasting enemies that get caught in it. It does insane damage, generates insane heat and is a glorious send-off to the amazing game that is Jets'n'Guns. I hope you enjoyed the game!

********************************************Secret Weapons********************************************

Not gonna tell how you unlock them... its a secret! These weapons are listed in the order you get them and the first 2 are Early game, second 2 are Mid to End game and the final 2 are of course End game.

* Tomator Deluxe - Oh yes, pelt your enemies with giant tomatoes for mild damage and tiny amounts of heat! Or maybe no heat at all! 421,000 to max and while it does decent damage and has practically zero heat gen there are better weapons for that price. 5/10

* Plop Gun - Fire large metal balls that travel out a short ways and then fall to the ground for moderate damage. Upgrades have it fire more balls but its final upgrade really hurts it's range but does boost damage quite a bit. Tiny amounts of heat and low price @ 330,000. But, again, like the Tomator there are much better weapons for the price and at the time you get it. 4/10

* Zion Wave Emitter - The first 'real' secret weapon the Zion Wave is actually quite potent though suffers from a substantial heat generation. As is in it's name, it fires large energy 'waves' at a great rate of fire once its upgraded. 1,690,000 to max puts it around the VX Laser and Zombie Blues level. Not bad, but not great. 7/10

* Kraken 2000 Harpooner - Meh. Generates very little heat and fires unique harpoon projectiles at a decent speed/damage but its simply rather forgettable. By the time you get this weapon you already have access to MUCH better guns so whats the point? A budget weapon with little heat generation? I guess. Maxes @ 1,250,000. 6/10

* Omnigun NT-2 - A trippy weapon thats extremely unique in look and attack pattern. The gist of it is that it fires a line of orange 'energy swirls' that once fully extended will split into 2 lines, mirroring each other, and whip all around the ship in a larger area before coming back together... its quite a sight! Its a half-pierce weapon, going through unlimited enemies but NOT land/walls. It generates very little heat. Its short range and lack of concentrated fire-power when it goes into its split are its only real drawbacks. 2,450,000 to max. 8/10

* The Punisher - Joke weapon that can 1-shot the 50,000 HP test targets. Its a tiny baseball bat, lol! It swings around at the nose of your ship and its basically a point-blank weapon. Next to useless in almost all cases... though I'd REALLY love to see someone play through the game 5 times to collect FIVE of them, HAHAHA all of those bats swinging around. No heat and no upgrades means that you can collect it and use it for free. JOKE/10

An early/mid game weapon that I think many people overlook is the Mine Deployer.

Only 360k for a fully upgrade one. At that point it deploys 7 mines covering about 3/4 of the screen. The mines are deployed in a fairly rapid succession and do HUGE amount of damage.
Not only will they cover you from anything comming from behind they will also kill anything that tries to run past you and they can even be used offensivly by positioning yourself just above or below your target.

Many early/mid game bosses can be killed in seconds just be training them into the mines.
Oh and as they are bombs and not guns they don't generate any heat at all!!! (just note that if you keep the bomb button pressed you will not recover any heat even if you are not firing you gun, so you have to let go of both gun and bomb button when you want to recover heat).
Updated with mid game stuff. I might get around to bombs/missiles later on.
Tsunami Generator Try that weapon out. Last time I played it killed anything on the map. At least when maxed.
Charge Generator is actually pretty good. It'll one shot most things in the start. Now I got two of them on level 2 of 3 and they will get rid of even the heaviest enemy in just like two or three shots.

It's hilarious on some bosses where it'll rip away 80% at once. Sure it got short range but doesn't matter much when you instantly kill them.

I've been using that weapon for plenty of stages now.

Yeah, Charge Generator is the only thing that actually let me beat the game on Hard right off the start. Other weapons simply lack damage to destroy threats fast enough. I think I used the Generator up until the point when I got Tsunami, so it's a very viable weapon.

I see you guys like the charge generator but I never cared for it. I'd imagine its next to useless when many enemies appear on screen and try to fly past you... you'll only be able to get the ones that fly right into you.
You didn't find the Omni-Gun on the jungle level? Aww.. I really liked the hell out of that thing. Minimal heat, decent damage, and I liked the effect and the way it worked.

But yeah, I agree on that Hexagun. Makes the Chroniton Riffle look like a joke.

I actually liked the Banzai Rammer on some levels, especially the one where you were using the diver for the "underwater jetpack mission".

Well, I didn't add any of the secret weapons. I might go in and create their own special section though all of them except the Wave Gun and Omni-Gun are pretty weak lackluster.
About Manic Miner

If you buy one of these bad boys and the Rotary Cage, you can actually aim this one forward AND backwards simultaneously while generating almost no heat whatsoever, which makes the entire game a cakewalk, especially with more than one Manic Miner.
With 2, you get an X shape, which is essentially X-ray disruptor made cheap.

You might wanna add this.

Oh my, sir. Manic Miner does indeed work with Rotary Cages... this changes things.

Wow, thats almost as overpowered as the Hexagun. Like you said just get 2 or more and turn them sideways... stuff dies.

The Omni Gun is my favorite weapon. Get it, upgrade to max and win the game
My very overpowered setup: Hexagun+Swarm+ZionWave in front, homing missiles, general P.I.G.s and autotrack laser, all maxed. I just fly through levels... bosses die in seconds.

I personally got the Omni Gun, I entered the "truck" mission after the "train" missile and figured 'okay I am not doing well, I need something better for this' and found the Hexagun, and then I had about 98% kill rate, haha.
