At the very least you gotta multiply that by 8 for all the main bosses.
And then experimenting around with all the classes, randomized gear and enemie placement etc.
I'd say if you enjoy roguelites in general this could easily be a 20+ hour game at the very least. I played the network test for multiple hours and still got the urge to play way more, especially since most of the content has been locked away in that.
Didn’t reviewers already confirm the day length to be around 12-15 minutes? 3 days, 45 minutes?
I think a more generous post would have asked what the value is in spending $40 (or $55 for the invisible DLC version) for a highly repetitive experience that may last only 45 minutes at a time. Assuming you have a good group and you don’t get party wiped early, of course.

Can you please share what content this is? Besides the 7 other bosses? Because according to all available informations thats the game - random map, one of the 8 bosses, repeat. What content do they hide from us?
What content is hidden?
The invisible DLC, apparently lmao
I just make the logical conclusion considering multiple facts:
1) Their past network tests for their other games had the vast majority of content locked again (Elden Ring for example which only offered the very first map so like, what, 15% of the actual content?)
2) The fact that we only got to fight against one of the eight main bosses.
3) We haven't even seen the various ways the maps can change (we saw different "biomes" in the trailer for example).
4) We only had access to 4 classes while the base game will have more.
And some more I won't go into detail right now. I'd say 4 are more than enough to get my point across.
Random enemies, random map, random loot, new gameplay mechanics, set classes to build around, an entirely new way to use magic with the recluse, new bosses etc.
That's pretty much the average roguelite right there. Which is what Nighreign is gonna be. A roguelite.
Which is fine, it's a rather niche genre actually.
They are build around replayability through randomized maps/areas, randomized enemy placement and randomized loot. There are some pretty popular roguelite/likes out there that have gained massive followings such as Hades (sequel currently in early access and critically acclaimed), Binding of Isaac, Cult of the Lamb and Risk of Rain (Risk of Rain 2 is pretty close to what Nightreign is gonna do since it also offers coop).
As far as those games are concerned I can already tell Nighreign is genuinely going to offer way more variety in regards to enemies and overall content.
Hades is one of the most popular ones out there and that one has very, very limited variety and only a set amount of weapons to use. It's still an amazing game that can easily entertain you for 50+ hours. I highly recommend it. It's beautiful, the gameplay is solid and the soundtrack is amazing.
its hard to compare the Networktest of Elden Ring, which has a fixed, huge, handcrafted world, with Nightreign which is round based.
I asked for the hidden content. We already knew there will be 8 bosses and 8 Classes.
Biomes, right. Sad that we will already knew them from Elden Ring as well. But I have to admit that a random underground map themend like Nokron would be sweet. But to be honest its just another painting for the Backdrop. I doubt Bioms will affect gameplay to much.
Content for me would be - consindering its a rogouelite - unlockable classes, unlockable bosses, unlockable weapons, anlockable Armors, anlockable new skills for each class. Thats what keeps you going in roguelites like Isaac for example.
I didnt read any plans for those. But maybe it will be there... has to be, otherwise the first few people will be finished with the content in 24h after release.
Both network tests gave us a taste of what's to come. Sure, Nighreign most likely won't offer such a drastic difference but then again it's also cheaper and was made in less time as well. So we can't expect the same amount of content.
Yes and we didn't get to see or fight against those other 7 bosses nor did we get to play the other 4 classes. We also didnt get to see/fight all the enemies and we didn't get to experience different "biomes" changing etc.
That was the content locked away from us. If you ask me to give you detail on content we can't know anything about then, well, that's impossible for me to do and I never claimed to have such knowledge.
I mean a poisoned swamp will definitely have an affect on the gameplay and how you traverse through the map. Or volcanic areas in which you have to avoid fire/lava. Or whatever else they got in store for us. We already saw some kind of swamp area and lava stuff in the trailer. How much things are going to change we can't know yet but I hope it will be a noticeable amount.
Like Isaac which is also very, very basic in its presentation.
Try adding that much stuff into a world such as Elden Ring. That'd be at least a decade worth of work alone.
I'd rather compare it to Hades. No unlockable classes, no unlockable bosses, some set weapons, no unlockable armor.
Compared to that Nighreign is definitely gonna have more in store for use and Hades is one the of the most popular/beloved ones out there. Which means Nightreign should be safe in that regard.
We have more classes, more weapons, more bosses, more enemies, different characters, armors, an actual unique magic system for the recluse etc.
Don't forget that Binding of Isaac had YEARS to get where it is now and tons of fan feedback.
And thanks to the randomization of this genre they'll still be able to play more and enjoy it for longer than that.
Hell I made it through hades in like 10 hours and still decided to put over 50 more hours on top of that into it because the gameplay is that much fun and I wanted to test out more various combinations with different weapons and skills.
I'll definitely be doing the same with Nightreign.
I predict that the main complaint about this game is going to be the P2P connection and the lack of content, frankly.
