Make those bad guy characters unlockable through the coop game!
Great idea!
Imagine being able to invade and play as Margit. Or the Centepede Demon.
Man, I know this is a spinoff/small project, but as it is now it's just lacking in imagination!
I stick to my opinion: PVP would be the one thing that could carry this game for longer then three months. The thrill of competition is the thing that motivates people every day to start Counter Strike or League of Legens every day again - even if they saw everything a hundred times.
Without any sort of competition i dont see any reason to keep going after killing all 8 new bosses. Any a multiplayer game needs an active player base for a living.
$5 per hour to invade; or just add a coliseum where people can have matches for free.
Exactly this, and I think your assessment is on point. People who have played games a long time and lived through tons of releases can pretty much see this will be fairly dead after the initial 3-month surge.
PvP has been part and parcel for the past 15 years, no need to start charging now. Casual mode and PvP mode. Other games have similar offerings, so can this one, if they so choose!
That's already done, I'm just bemoaning the misstep because in the long run, it's going to be a drive-by release. There just isn't enough meat to it.
Honestly, if this feature existed without being able to turn it off, it would be a main reason why I would not be excited about the game. Having to worry about CPU enemies is one thing, but having someone following me trying to kick my ass while we're getting ganked by like 30 enemies on each side? Like, that sounds brutal to the point of it not being fun at that point. Nightreign is the perfect game for me and the boys to just hop on, do a few expeditions every now and then, and boom, fun! Until next time.
So your point is kinda a double-edge, because sure, there's going to be people that like it, and would buy it solely for it (like you) and people who would absolutely hate it, and would not buy it for the same reason (like me) if it was baked into the game like that.
So both of our gustos are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ either way, UNLESS they have a PVP specific mode that satisfy both people.
I'm speaking outta my ass here, you still make valid points, lol!
Nah you're good. It's all preference. Best case would be separate modes, but at this point I don't see that happening!
I don't think a genre guarantees a set amount of content. Every open world game I have ever played has had an overwhelming amount of things to do. Elden Ring had exactly 3 things to do, just 165+ times.
Also, loved Rogue Legacy, Dead Cells, etc. You know people play more than one type of game, even when they are talking about a specific one, yeah?
