ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

Ranking every Everdark Sovereign Bosses
This is my ranking of the Everdark Sovereign Bosses:

7 - Libra:
The worst of them all. This boss went from being my favorite in its base form to a total design nightmare. It's completely unbalanced due to the spam of Damned enemies and the constant Libra explosions. Honestly, this boss could easily rise to my top 3 if they reduced the spawn rate of the Damned or increased the chance of them attacking each other.

6 - Maris:
This is the only boss (along with Libra) that I truly dislike. Not because of balancing issues (unlike Libra), but because the fight is painfully slow and boring. Bringing back the Storm Ruler was a fantastic idea and a great callback to Yhorm from DS3, but the way it’s implemented here makes the whole challenge feel like a test of endurance, and of the player’s patience, rather than skill.

5 - Caligo:
Kind of meh. The new AOE and general attacks aren’t anything special. It’s not a bad boss, but I find the base version more interesting and generally more fun. Still, I really like the blue ice, visually it looks awesome!

4 - Abel:
This boss is really cool! His attacks are a bit chaotic but mostly readable. The tornado is a fun and instantly understandable gimmick, and the overall damage output feels decently balanced. The only issue is that he moves around a bit too much, which can get frustrating for melee builds. Still, I prefer this version over his base form.

3 - Gnoster:
I didn’t expect this one to be in my top 3 XD. I found this version way more fun than the base one. The moveset is incredibly varied, and I loved the parasite concept. The only downside is that the moth is a bit too hard to hit with melee builds, which can be a little annoying.

2 - Gladius:
I really struggled to decide whether to put this one in first or second place. Gladius is definitely a tough boss, but he’s also very well balanced. His new moves and variations of older ones make him a much improved version of the base fight. I especially liked how he gets buffed if you hit him during certain moments, really cool mechanic. The only reason he’s not number one is that sometimes, when he splits, two wolves can attack you at once, which can be frustrating. That only happened occasionally for me, though, as they usually separated quickly. Overall, he’s an excellent boss and one of my favorites!

1 - Fulghor:
This boss is incredible. Every attack is well choreographed and understandable. The damage feels fair overall, and the fight is extremely cinematic. Even the massive explosion feels like a fairer, but just as epic, version of Radahn’s. The arrow rain is also beautiful and a great reference to Aldrich from DS3. Easily my favorite fight!

IMPORTANT: These are just my personal opinions! I made this post to hear from more experienced players, so please don’t flame me if you disagree 😅
P.S. I can’t wait to face the Everdark version of Heolstor!:praisesun:

Dog, Centaur is perfect. Adel is good. Gnoster, Maris is sad, but when u drunk - its ok. Caligo its cringe, idk how someone can lose there, its kinda impossible. Libra feels weird and totally boring.
my top 3 would be
ED Libra
ED Gladius
ED Gaping Jaw
Fulghor
Caligo
Gladius
Gnoster
Maris
Adel
Libra - so awful, unbalanced and unfair it is actually good.
I'm ashamed to admit after playing him some more I kinda like him.
1. Gladius
2. Fulghor
3. Gnoster
4. Libra
5. Adel
6. Caligo ( like all dragon fights ... )
7. Maris ( gimick fight after 1 hour run really ? )
1. Libra. It has many mechanical changes to the fight itself. It's almost an entirely new boss.

2. Fulghor. Sure it gets annoying when he starts flying off to shoot arrows but thematically it's just amazing. He rejects the night, stabs his own "darkness arm", ascends to the sky and restores himself. He's the protagonist of the game in my eyes.

3. Gnoster. A "Phoenix"-like entity reviving the moth and the scorpion which is essentially just a cordyceps monster. Excellent.

4. Adel. Mechanical changes to the fight (spiritstream jumps so you can get over the tornado wall is peak cinema.)

5. Gladius. Mixed feelings on giving him so many giant AoE nukes, but it's a fun fight.

6. Caligo. Barely any changes to the normal fight. Same behavior except with a frost shield you have to break. Boring.

7. Maris. I wanted a Demon Souls boss and they gave us Storm King...
My favorite is Libra; Yeah, his gimmicks are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and too RNG-based. You absolutely need a good team to defeat him. Buts its so chaotic and it fits his theme.
From a balancing and a fair but challenging point, Fulghor is #1. After that comes Gnoster. Its a very interesting take on a trio boss that simply works if your teammates are not complete noobs.
Adel is also very respectable but his biggest problem is the visual noise in his 2nd phase.
Everyone else is mid.
Doggo would be rated higher but his hitboxes are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the camera cant keep up.

Not really, if they wanted to be thematic with him, how the fight should have worked is more like where you get thrown with random deals throughout the fight, such as your stats getting moved around, your weapons being replaced with entirely new ones, instead of infinite NPC spawns it would have been cooler to have all players be split into their own arenas when he does the quarters with a duel of your own copy, and if you fail to kill them in X time, each one buffs him before vanishing, stuff like that.

Instead we just get our health halved for a moment, infinite flask at the cost of a level, friendly fire gets enabled, we get madness build-up which we can't prevent in any way and only try to reduce if the good goat so chooses to let us by giving us the rock candy to eat, or we can't see our allies.

Because so far his whole thing has been about good/bad deal, where we get something from him in exchange for something traded away, which does not reflect during the fight. There is no real chaos to the fight that screams his design which I personally enjoy greatly. It was just a cheap way to make the fight be difficult without actually needing to balance it, since the moment you skip the whole NPC part, he becomes a joke, since he is then just his non-ED variant with a different outfit.

Objectively speaking, the devs could have put more effort to emphazise his themes without relying on a gank squad, you are correct. But for me personally, i still love how unforgiving it is.
1. Fulghor, exceptionally well designed fight, and balanced, done as a proper Soulsborne boss. He has a punishment mechanic, clearly choreographed attacks, and he is different from his regular variant, all of which make him feel unique.

2. Gladius is similar, the only problem really is the camera in Nightreign being somehow worse than in Dark Souls 1, but otherwise same as Fulghor, even if he has some copy/pasted moves. Solid boss that definitely feels unique, and has the added benefit of forcing players to chill with the button mashing which I do appreciate.

3. Gnoster, again very unique fight, I do like the new take on the dual boss system where if players are coordinated, they can ensure they don't get overwhelmed, while the fight itself is made unique enough with the erratic move set whenever the real boss takes over one of them.

4. Caligo gets a solid 4th place from me, mostly because her regular variant is by far my favourite boss in the game, but also because I like the way they did the timed boss fight mechanic with her, since you can't avoid the frostbite, and it gets worse every time it happens, so you can't take your sweet time. I only really criticise the fact that she is a boss that has the Elden Ring problem to it where she spends most of her time avoiding being in melee range, which gets frustrating when combined with the timer.

5. Adel, proof of concept boss really, he gets a 7/10 rating, as he is not bad, but at the same time, he really is just a one-trick shock factor as after the hurricane happens and you realise what to do, he is just his regular variant without the poison puking and zigzag attack in a tight space. Not bad, not great.

6. Maris, not much that needs to be said about this one. Exceptionally boring fight, made the same mistake as they did with Yhrom, while not learning why Rykard was significantly better received as a boss. Just a janky fight where you can more or less stand perfectly still and blast away.

7. Libra. Cheap boss, not challenging, not difficult, just cheap. You wipe out his NPCs instantly and he is a joke, as he is just his regular variant with a new set of clothes, bringing nothing new to the table, and an absolutely wasted pile of potential for one of the coolest fights that could have been, had they bothered to take more time with him and not be pressured to just quickly ship him as an ED.

The crux is that his gank squad is all he is in his ED format. That's why everyone and their grandmothers are telling folks to just spam AOE to wipe them out the second the spawn, because it just makes the boss trivial at that point, and not even remotely challenging. It is very much cheap design, because he is a definition of a one-trick pony.
ED Libra is the experiment for FromSoft to make a future RTS game.:steammocking:
1) Fulghor
2) Adel
3) Gnoster
4) Gladius
5) Caligo
6) Maris
7) Libra
Anyone who says libra is the worst, is just testifying being unable to learn pvp,pve mechanics and voting for easier boss as a way of coping with their skills. Maris literally is the same fight over and over because it's a scripted fight in a Roguelite, which goes against the very design of the genre.

bro, you cannot compare it with pvp. In 1v1 pvp or invasions, we can choose to fight slowly and methodically but this battle forces us to rush. If not, the summons just keep getting more powerful. Even the 1v5 fight with Leda can drag on without that much risk
