For everyone complaining about ring time.
Lets say they make the ring time longer instead of the rush to loot and be precise with your load out and you can get god tier loot. I guarantee everyone complains about the game being too easy when you can roll around with dual god blades that kill every mob in one hit. The rush is the point.

I guess that's the point but it just feel weird for a Fromsoft game to rush you like that. I don't mind a Fromsoft rogue-like but most rogue-like games don't time you for exploring the level. And the loot is randomized so your not always going to get a god run everytime.

The thing is, this is what they advertised when the game was announced. Everyone expected a souls game when it wasn't that. to be fair, they 100% used the Elden Ring IP when it should have just been called Nightreign.

all they need to do is add a timer/ stop watch you can find to monitor the rain and when it will move
From my knowledge they sped it up from the beta. Regardless it would not hurt for the ring time to be at least a minute higher.
First remove day 2, add a minimap. You cannot slow down the ring that would add to the total time to complete matches which they balanced around the fact most people are playing this with complete strangers with zero communication.

you can open the map and run around at the same time, i've been doing it since i started nightreign

Barony times you with minotaur spawn. Risk of Rain times you with monster strength increase. Dead Cells times you with locking out gates after certain time. ADoM times you with corruption mechanic. Elona times you with ether disease.

Obviously it needs a minimap so everyone is constantly aware of the nightrain like every other game that uses this exact system

but if they just call it Nightreign they coudnt just copy every asset and animations and even the map
I would say start the ring closing sooner, but make it slightly slower to compensate. That way it's still a constant impending problem that you need to keep an eye on, but isn't at a speed where your super sprint barely keeps ahead of it.

Possibly even do away with the multiple stages of closing entirely, so once it starts moving it's just a consistent ticking clock. It would force players to decide if something on the other side of the map is worth it enough to go for right at the start in case it's not far enough inside the end circle to get later.
