Is getting memory fragments to unlock more journal entries totally random?

EDIT: turns out some are locked behind having killed 4 different night lords.

You get them from beating Night Lords depending on the character you are using I'm pretty sure. also there are only a set amount of them for each character.

The problem is I have beaten a few nightlords on diff chars with no more memory fragments.

All my chars ranging from about 3-6 stage so not finished any.

I am unsure honestly. It does seem kind of random, some of my friends were getting new fragments without us even beating a Night Lord. Specific unlock conditions on alot of stuff except the 2 characters you unlock is gonna be a bit hard to find for a bit sadly.

???

ive only beaten 2 and got quests on guardian, revenant and iron eye. so i dont think so.

It could also be based off of certain enemies fought, items found, amount of runs done, or certain locations visited. Right now it is hard to say for sure.

It's not random. You get fragments from playing as the character in Expeditions, and you get more fragments the further you progress in an Expedition.

Well I am not getting any so maybe it’s bugged then.

EDIT: i think maybe the lower ones are more likely and the higher ones not 100% maybe.
