Mixed Reviews.
The mixed reviews are all pretty pathetic. The game has legitimately been out for a day and people are asking for new bosses already?? As it stands right now, Nightreign has been absolutely amazing. I can't wait for updates to solo play as well.

I'm not asking for anything. These updates have already been confirmed by Fromsoft.

I agree, this game has been a ball to play for me. The life I live is one that largely ignores the opinions of 99% of other people. It's fun, but it runs like crap, and that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Also, the time limit needs to increase. So we can gain a better competitive edge for the bosses and mobs. Otherwise, yes, the game is a blast. I always wanted a souls-like game that focused primarily on coop. It's a dream come true for me.

What do you expect when a studio takes a chance on a radically different formula? Risky, very. They must be rolling in the $$$ to take such a chance, many studios are not so.

game ramps up the speed by 100 and that won’t be for everyone. i do appreciate the game for what it is and was having a lot of fun.

definitely more fun than sitting in a discussion board of a game i don’t own and telling everyone how bad it is. do these people actually play games?

Yeah, but pushing boundaries is how you evolve the industry from the boring stalemate it is in currently. 99% of AAA games are beyond garbage and not worth buying. At this point, FromSoft and Capcom are the only decent AAA companies that still put out bangers imo. I still love Resident Evil games, and I still like what From puts out. Everything else is meaningless.

Mixed doesn't mean it's bad. Just means a lot of people do and don't recommend it. I had my fun but don't recommend it. It has a lot of valid issues but that's okay. To say it's pathetic is disingenuous.

Because artists get bored. I would know because I am an artist/musician, so I know what that is about. You can't keep doing the same all the time and never change anything and survive forever. Look at Capcom as an example with their games like RE. That franchise went through lots of changes and still made money and made some fans happy. You can't please everybody, so f^ck 'em. I play all kinds of games, and I couldn't imagine being stuck on one formula all the time. That's just life; nothing stays the same forever, just like our society as a whole. Honestly, if you want boundary-pushing games, then AAA is not the way to go. AA companies/indie will be here long after the AAA companies eventually crash. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time.

To be fair, if the game were not comprised of ER assets and an FS surrogate's creation, the game would be "Negative" / <5/10. The name association and tried, true Souls gameplay keeps its head above water. The game feels like a proof-of-concept, not a retail product, and should not be lauded as such.

Were the game overflowing with content -- in terms of maps, bosses, and characters -- and every other flaw remained, it could have brute forced a "good" rating... But, on merit, in its current state, no way.

Risk is directly proportional to your overall capital. This is most def an experimental project or RnD to test to the water and gain developmental experience in this type of software environment. Something they feel is lacking, clearly for an upcoming high budget title.

Solo should've been balanced day1 since they've included it. But they did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so I get why people feel that way
