Xbox Controller not working only on Nightreign

Works like normal on every other game, but nightreign wont recognize it or let me use it at all, tried plenty of fixes so far with no luck.. Is this a common problem right now?

I'm playing with the xbox controller right now, no problem for me, did you try connecting it with the cable?

Yeah, im using it wired. Ive tried verifying, different wires and ports, nothing so far. Any other game uses the controller fine, but nightreign doesn't recognize it at all, i even just tried a different controller, and sitll no luck.

Did you try to do the opposite, to actually disable steam input? If you got an official controller, it can mess with it making it recognised as a steam controller instead.

For the controller fix, you're gonna need to copy the VDF files in the game directory, all of the "steam_input", after this, paste them into steam folder the default directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\controller_base\templates".

After this, go back to the steam root folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam"), and create a folder named "controller_config", after this paste "steam_input_manifest.vdf" to the newly created folder, and rename it to "game_actions_480.vdf".

Once you're done with that restart steam, go to the steam, on the Spacewar game go into the controller options and change the preset, in the template tab, it should have a controller with a blank name(or "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Official Settings"), in case it doesn't appear, press "Show all layouts".
Once the blank layout is selected, the game should recognize your controller.

I've been using an Xbox1 controller since release, no issues. Weird. Well, no issues besides the trash targeting/lockon
