Remove the time pressure, and maybe there's something fun here.
I like the general concept of Elden Ring: Arcade Mode, but I feel like the time limit is way, way too short. I barely have time to kill one mini-boss, let alone look at the map, plan a course, and read the loot I pick up, before being hurried along.

Also, the relic system being 100% random is super unsatisfying, and I feel no sense of progression between runs.

Has it gotten better for anyone, yet?

i think as the game goes on they'll eventually adjust it in accordance with issues that come up, right now it's a bit too fast and i'm struggling to have enough stuff and power to kill the final boss, but i'm sure it'll be better in a few days

the name of the game is "learn from your mistakes" dialed up to 11
each run increases your knowledge of the map and enemies which means the next run will be smoother, faster, better and so on so forth.

Relics are useful, but knowledge is the real gamechanger, even more than other from titles
yeah this is another case of wait a year to play. ive already refunded the game. the time limit is insanely short, as soon as your team clears one small location its boom you have to move miles away because the ring is coming.

except it's not because you have to reply on 2 other randoms to learn as well which makes it unfun as ♥♥♥♥, the downed mechanic is the worst I have ever played - who thought hitting your allies would be a good mechanic?

I've also refunded, the ring moves too quick, the combat is elden ring but more clunky. The parkouring I would love in an actual souls rpg, same with abilities that aren's spells is a nice concept - but this game itself just feels bad to play generally

what would have been better? standing still and holding a button to revive?

I agree the night circle thing that encroaches its a bit too fast, i mentioned it in my reviews. I believe this game has a lot of potential. I don't understand the backlash. I say give it time.

I mean? yes, it would, because that doesn't require the mage to swap to a weapon to hit with, nor aim with, tbh the best get up mechanic is still Borderlands... It's just not a fun mechanic. There's so many better ways they could have done it - quick revive for a start, in a boss fight there's no time to actually revive so you're just stuck on the ground crawling about, oh such fun... and before you say "well don't get downed then" - that's not relevant to the mechanic of being downed being bad... Levelling down on death is also stupid, you're already time gated, random loot gated and now if you do die you get penalised more for it which reduces the fun even more.

The issue is they tried to cram 3 days into 40 minute session which means you have less than 15 minutes per day to actually do anything, so you explore a bit, beat 1 or two bosses and then you rush to the middle - it's not great like

I agree that the time pressure makes things too hectic. It feels like it would be better if it moved at about half the speed it currently does.

Or if there were at least options to choose different pacing settings.
The game is fun, but you can tell this is something of a first attempt for them. It desperately needs voice chat, better loot, and a bit more time before the ring arrives. I think in a few weeks, it will play significantly better.
as far as i can tell nodes for leveling up and flasks aren't random.

so why bother? you might as well make it based on something other than location, like mob drops or something.

I also think you shouldn't be able to respawn if you die alone and can't be "ressed" you should just be dead, encouraging working as a team, as that's what they're forcing anyway, so why not commit.

Also, i think it's weird that they base boots off weapons, why not just have talismens rings ect, they could have accomplished the same thing.

but I haven't played enough to know yet.

Yeah it's why I didn't get it. Co-op I understand but single player.....nah.
Call me snowflake if you want but I never enjoyed those types of games.
I like to take my time and not be rushed....but that's me. Judging from the early
reviews it looks like I made the right call as others are not liking the time sh!t!
Besides I'll always enjoyed the Soul games my way....and that's taking my time

I'd rather have to hit my allies (which opens a LOT more strategies with consumable and various spells and abilities) and stay there like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ muppet "holding E to revive" while Margit makes swiss cheese of my ass

Still, sorry you didn't like it, it's definetely not a game for everyone, it mixes two genres in a experimental way and it's bone-crunchingly unforgiving.

wtf I literally take down like 4 to 6 before the end of day 1.
just lost a nightlord battle to revive mecanic, very boring that you drain your stamina to revive someone and then the boss clip you with one of the AOE attack, get up, look at the downed player behing back to 1/2 when he was just 1 hit to get up.

there is way too little time before the timer regrow leaving you alot more as exposed as a ''hold E'' because you dont ave stamina left for a roll

god forbid one of the bosses target you while doing it also
