It will not matchmake for a 3rd full stop, they have royally messed it up, so in a 2 you cannot play at all, just warning you now before you buy it and are sorely disappointed.

Do you have the password setting on Three and not Two? Pretty sure if it's set to Three it will not queue up because it expects you to get a third from the password/invites and not matchmaking.

My buddy and I have also been queuing up as a team of 2 and been getting a 3rd person pretty quickly, within a minute or two.

I had no problem with random 3 players joining. The problem was not having any way to communicate with them.

This seems like an experience limited to a minority, me and my friend consistently found another in ~30 seconds, minus one time where we just re queued and it got fixed
