ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

The future of Souls like games
Hello everyone
In recent years, several games in the souls like genre have been released, and several more are in the pipeline; On the one hand, the good quality of recent games in this genre and the favorable reception by players is promising, and on the other hand, the high difficulty and specificity of this genre and the large number of titles released pose the risk of market saturation.
In my opinion, the Elden Ring DLC was a wake-up call and I don't have much hope for Elden Ring Nightreign. and to be honest, the initial sales of The First Berserker: Khazan weren't that great. about Wukang? owes all of its sales to the Chinese market...
so what do you thing guys? How do you predict and assess the situation?

What do you mean? The DLC was fine...

You do need to look at the irony tho...Nobody liked Demons Souls, Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2...Everyone pretended to like Dark Souls 3...until Elden Ring came out...then everyone all of a sudden was a veteran.

The DLC did more than people think...it went back to its roots...it was unforgiving and a VERY well crafted piece of work that didn't cater to those who want an easy win.

Black Myth: Wukong 30% of its sales are from outside China which is/was something like 7.5 million copies. Also last time I checked, sales from China count as well.

Elden Ring : 25% Chinese sales

The First Berserker: Khazan
Doesn't have a backbone of previous games/lore to inspire purchases. Black Myth: Wukong is about probably the most well known/popular mythical figure in China/internationally.

Elden Ring had the entire Souls series and Fromsoft game catalog to back them up. So using this unknown game with no background fan base just isn't a fair comparison.

With many games coming out in the near future people might not be willing to buy Khazan if they aren't going to play it.

I don't think we have to worry about market saturation, there may be a lot of games, but the bad game just won't get any purchases. I don't think this is an issue.

Besides Nightrein, while it might have the souls-like tag, it is not the same type of game. They might be mechanically similar, but the style of game is completely different.

Aside from any of this information: not every game is made for every person.

kinda logic
But I fear the day when people will say: Oh, another Souls Like!

No, I was talking about the original games of this genre. Otherwise, I agree that the name has been used inappropriately for many games.

Yea the dlc was a throwback to Ds1 almost. It's too bad a few zones didn't have much in them but the good stuff was some of the best they have done

Excuse me? How was the Dlc like DS1?
Big empty places with nothing to loot is like DS1? Haha
