Could there be a slower-paced game mode, like 1 hour+ per day, where instead of picking up pre-made items, you assemble your own build? :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I think 1 hour per day is too much but I agree we need more options of pacing, and this time I would even say difficulty (even higher difficulty included). Even after playing for a lot of hours in the same map it felt so hushed to do things and the matches felt more like a competitive game match than a roguelite match

I think the more this game resembles Risk of Rain 2 (that they even pointed out in the surveys), more fun the game will be

There could - but there wont.
This. The "40-minute runs" shtick isn't motivating for 'Souls' players, any more than I'd wager it is for those who pumped oodles of hours into ER. NR should come with that default game mode ("Expeditions"?), as well as a slower paced mode--something that either excludes the "Fortnite circle" effect entirely, or that has it's own time transition (conveyed via the skybox et al.). If all the game is is the same, 40-minute run over and over, it will likely hamstring its potential.

I actually find Risk of Rain 2 harder than Elden Ring, depending on your playstyle. That angle seems interesting to explore.
