ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

HOT TAKE: Fan-artists should stop Blackwashing the Recluse
I'd like to preface this post by saying this:
Creative freedom is paramount. Draw whatever you want. Don't let my lore-nerding stop you from drawing what you love to draw.

In all footage I've seen of The Recluse, including official art, her skin has always been ash-grey. This clearly lines up with the Draconian character preset in Elden Ring, which has grey skin and hair. Having white hair wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a Draconian, considering they already have grey hair normally. It's also entirely possible that she's a Nightfolk, as they naturally have darker hair than Draconians but lighter skin, but that's still up to interpretation until we can get our hands on the game and see for ourselves.

To illustrate the point further, there are no black characters in Elden Ring. A case could be argued for Yura, but his facial structure more closely matches the Ryukyuan people (in modern terms, the Okinawans), an officially recognized population of Japanese people with naturally tanned skin from the Ryukyu Islands.
Another example that comes to mind might be Nepheli Loux, but her features and lore tie her closer to Arabs than people of Sub-Saharan African descent.

However, the vast majority of the fan-art surrounding The Recluse depicts her as someone with Sub-Saharan African features, which is fairly odd to me. The character is evidently not black, and grey skin already has a connection to a pre-established race in the lore, and yet it's more common to see her illustrated as a Black woman instead of a Draconian woman.

Seems like something that isn’t really an issue.

It's just a little annoying tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if people started saying she was black because of all the fanart, because there's precedent for misinterpretation in the fandom already, such as marika/radagon being perceived as transgender, as opposed to being metaphysically connected.

I've watched a fair amount of gameplay material from Nightreign and played the network test myself, she does not have ash grey skin. Her skin is black.

Just use google for like 5 seconds. Look at all the gameplay pics of her. Black.
Look at gameplay footage of someone playing as her. Black.

Make this retarded complaint 20 years ago when Tom Cruz was playing "The Last Samurai". Only one race seems to care about this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and it's the one who does it the most throughout all of history.
She is black queen and I'm proud of her and as a white man I'm gonna become her (in Nightreign). Keep your racist nonsense for 4chan.
Imma be real this seems like making an issue where there wasn't one to begin with, if an artist draws her like that, who cares they can do that. Keep it to yourself type ♥♥♥♥ yk

Hot take, pedos are gross, OP

Lolis are the ultimate symbol of freedom and liberty. Whenever i browse the internet and see loli being banned or shunned, i know that place has lost it's dignity; to be able to profess your love for young anime girls without repercussions is a sign that free speech is not yet snuffed there
Lolis are, ultimately the ultimate filter againts normies, grifters and tr00ns.
Headpat a loli today for she fights for your freedom

Soylent green seems like a better idea each day

Oh yea I didn't check their profile its pretty bad. I don't think anyone has to take anything seriously from someone who called themselves loliguro.

You'd realize Tom Cruise's character was an American in Japan and not a "whitewashed" Japanese person if you had seen the movie and possess a functional prefrontal cortex
