Don't pre-order, wait a week or a month, see the game's reception and then you can make an informed purchase
also, Nightreign is extremely likely to get DLC's
so might be worth to wait for them to release the definitive edition of the game
This will be the first time.
The closest I've come to that level of commitment was God of War: Ragnarok. I pre-ordered it a week in advance after details made it clear it would be more of the same with a story conclusion: exactly what I wanted! It's the only other pre-order I've EVER made.
Deep Rock Galactic, Risk of Rain 2 and For Honor (ew, I know.) are/were some of my favorite games, and I've been going hard on Elden Ring for about a year and recently got 100% achievements and still am hyped to play more. Nightreign is perfectly me-shaped, and the pudding was already proved to be at least "pretty good" with some potential replay-ability and lack of duo-queue caveats that don't concern me (but are real concerns for most people).
I'm hyped as ♥♥♥♥ and can't wait for a day 1 "oops we forgot to turn on the servers" tweet! lmao. It's gonna be a beautiful mess and I'm here for it.
