Any character can use any weapon or incantation/sorcery, there no weight limit or stats requirement, only 6 slots max and lvl requirement (9 and 12 i think) for rare and legendary equipment. Also 2 talisman slots minimum + passives gems thingy to slap on chars at the rountable.
As for different armors, unsure, some people say that the rune currency earned in game could be spent on skins, we don't know yet.
Dont buy it only because its from Fromsoftware and has Elden Ring in the name.
It has no offline mode
Its has no slow exploration
Focus is on team/coop play
You cant build your char like in ER or DS3
Its no soulslike. Its kind of a coop roguelike boss rush game with randomised monsters and locations.
I highly recommend to watch gameplay videos first before you buy this blind. You might be disapointed if you expect a game like Elden Ring.
Take what this guy says with a grain of salt, he has a very rigid negative view. Just form an opinion of yourself.
Here is some more useful actually fact checked information:
- It does actually have an offline mode
- You do not have a character creator but 8 different playable characters which each have more unique identity and features from the start. Each has its own stats upon level up predetermined. Each character thus has different equipment synergies.
- Game is built around a loop that has a lot less down time and a lot more moment to moment action.
- There is no armor in the game, but other equipment like weapons, talismans and consumables are dropped randomly as loot. Each character can use any weapon but some work better for specific characters due to differing stats.
8 characters might be good though the first 4 seem just ok
still can change weapons at least so not fully stuck with set ways to play with characters
sure it's not like the other titles but it's enough to at least try but when it's cheaper though maybe something for around 20 dollars
so thank you for the info / help
also if this was online only i would have dropped this so fast and ignored it lol
I'd agree with you on the value but the full release is to contain a lot more. I don't think thr volume of content will be far from what the DLC had to offer, that besides all the gameplay and structure changes comes out to a very comparable package.
I think they'll lose a lot of potential sales if it's just a run and done rogue-like that has zero player customisation and little in the way of meaningful progression; as well as being tied to a server like a rental... Hence, me having some hope that's it's more fleshed out than the US$40 online-only mod that it would therefore effectively be.
Before jumping to conclusions based on speculation, maybe you should actually look at the available information. It’s already been confirmed that Nightreign can be played offline and solo, so the concerns about it being online-only aren’t accurate, so you could also assume it is at least balanced for solo. As for customization, the game includes roguelike mechanics and progression in the core gameplay, with relics and other progression features speculated to be present outside of the matches.
