Does anyone remember Fallout New Vegas? 90% of it's assets were just directly ripped from Fallout 3... there have also been plenty of other games that do this... of ALL the criticism this game can get this low effort, low thought, 'asset flip' one is pathetic and anyone who supports it should be ashamed.
I disagree. Its the main point why nightrein looks like scam.
If they would use a fresh world. Fresh monster, fresh bosses, fresh weapons, fresh setting - i wouldnt buy it because coop - BUT in a world in which i like coop i would pay more then 40 for it.
It really comes down to personal preference. If you don't feel that the new structure and mechanics of Nightreign justify the price without meeting a certain personal expectation on the amount of fresh content, that's fair everyone has different expectations for what constitutes value in a game. But saying the game is a "scam" just because it reuses assets isn't really a solid argument.
People said the same thing about Elden Ring when it reused a lot of Dark Souls elements, like its combat and world-building approach. Yet, the game was still praised for how those elements were reworked in a new, expansive way. So, it’s not always about having 100% new content but about how the familiar elements are reimagined or used in a different context.
Ultimately, whether it's liked or not comes down to personal preference, and no single opinion can dictate whether it's considered worthless, a scam, or anything else.
At least that would prevent me from reading your always identical wall of text in every single thread which stands critical against this game.
It’s interesting how you’re calling out my responses as repetitive, yet you’re consistently framing your opinion as if it's the only valid one. With that kind of dogmatic stance It’s only natural for me to react when the same are being made over and over without acknowledging the different perspectives others bring to the table.
You instead want at all costs that everybody likes the game even if its obviously the most lazzy cash grab in the history of fromsoftware.
And NO - for once and for all - reusing assets at this degree and selling it as new game is not about personal preferences - its scam.
This could have been an easy free addition to the game instead of selling it for freaking 40€. Put an skin shop inside to make some easy € but dont sell me limgrave again.
If it’s just “Limgrave again” for you, that’s totally valid. But others are looking at it with a different lens, and that’s the point of discussion. Maybe not everyone agrees that it’s a lazy cash grab, and trying to frame it as such isn’t convincing anyone. It’s more about what value the product brings to different people. If it doesn't work for you, that's fine, but not everyone shares that same perspective.
On a side note, I don't really care if people end up liking the game or not, that has no effect on me. But I’m sure you understand the disdain for dogmatic snowflakes people who try to force their views down the throat of others as the only correct one, whether it’s positive or negative.
But isnt this exactly what you are doing? :D
I’m not forcing any one perspective here. I encourage people to make their own judgments, and I’m not pretending like Nightreign is some god-given gift, elaborate "scam" or objectively "bad" product.
But you feel dogmatic in your sermon.
The Nightreign phenomenon is genuinely baffling to me, what is it about this game that attracts to many oblivious, naive people?
Tons of game have done this before, tons of companies have created games like this before. FromSoft has been very upfront about this game from the very beginning and they easily could have asked full triple A price for this game (seeing how other companies ask full price for releasing the same game every year).
If you don't agree with its price, don't buy it and move on. Or at least try to have an actual, civil discussion. Most of your comments are either attacking hollow for no reason or attacking the game. I don't get it. Why invest this much time into this?
