Playable solo and fun to play as solo are two different things.
Since this game is designed to be a coop based game your solo experience might be not as good as possible.
This is NOT a classic single player souls like. Dont expect that - you might be disappointed.
It'd be reasonable to expect that they have considered how the experience for a solo player would be as well.
Source
I am not suggesting this was something officially stated it’s simply a logical deduction of basic game design principles. When developing a game with both co-op and solo options, ensuring the experience is just as enjoyable for solo players is a natural consideration to have been made.
It'd be a Illogical for them to just slap on a solo mode without giving it any thought no? The idea that they wouldn’t consider how the game plays solo just doesn’t hold up.
The truth is that they want to prevent a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and squeeze a solo mode in to stop the fans from raging.
This game is build arround 3 player coop - solo will be playable but for sure suffer because the focus lies elsewhere.
Belive me or not. Time will tell.
Focusing on whether they could have overlooked it misses the bigger picture. The question isn’t whether they could have forgotten, it’s whether they would have. The fact that both solo and co-op are core to the game’s design means it’s unreasonable to think they wouldn’t have accounted for solo play in their development process. The balance between these modes isn't an afterthought it’s central to the experience, and developers are fully capable of focusing on both without one diminishing the other. Your point assumes that focusing on one automatically means neglecting the other, which isn’t necessarily the case.
So if there is no source which tells that they focus on solo equaly to the coop part, i dont belive it. And even if there is a source i will only belive it if i see it (gameplay).
For example there will be a boss who splitts up in three parts - one for each player (its confirmed). How to fix that for solos? Bots?
Even if there is a fix its only a fix and not how it normaly should work. Its a work-arround.
You see my point?
Maybe solo will be as fun as coop - but i dont see that right now.
So, the concern about solo play not being as fun or optimized is understandable but also overlooks how these games have always juggled both experiences with different mechanics, also including enemy AI.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see. The game will speak for itself, and only then will we know how well they've managed to balance both modes.
