ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

I was so use to invasions being a thing that I just now realize they ARE NOT in Nightreign
That's honestly so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool.

The absolute worst thing in Fromsoft's games was always invasions. Trying to play through the game with your friend for fun? You have to deal with sweats that invade with a PvP build looking to kill you and your fun. Then ridicule you if you don't like that.

Invasions were straight up just a toxic mechanic and the people it drew just further proved it. I honestly didn't think we'd ever get a game where we can play with our friends and not have to worry about Invaders. Yet here we are with Nightreign. Literally just a co op game without the annoyance of toxic invaders.

Absolute W on Fromsoft's part.

You didn’t play demon’s souls or dark souls 1, back when invasions were actually a neat mechanic that could be avoided entirely by never using humanity.

Invasions are bad now, but not for the reason you’re describing. They’re bad because invaders can only invade someone who is either on co op, or uses the tounge. So 9 times out of 10 invaders always play at a massive disadvantage due to always going up against at least 2 players. It’s not fun for the invader or the people trying to co op. Back in the day you could be invaded while solo and have legitimate duels with an invader. And people could just opt out of the system by not using humanity.

I haven't played DS1 huh? Since you clearly have, do tell me and the rest of the class how you can do co op with a friend without using humanity.

Spoilers: You can't.

You're ignorant to try and tell people what they have or haven't played when you literally know nothing about them.

It's not a souls game OP so there is no need for it

Their next souls game will have invasions 🤘

Why are you assuming things about people you don't know? Weirdo.

Although I never used it, isn't the password feature for that?

No. Passwords just help you find specific people. Once you engage in co op, random players can invade you regardless of you having a password.

I see, so there is really no way around it.
This topic is very very old, and the answer is still the same, noone obliged u to buy a game with invasions included, you on your own will decided to do that. Playing MP in souls breaks the game, enemies are not meant to face multiple ppl at once, they added invasions to counter the overwhelming advantage given by COOP and at the same time they gave players another way to play the game and a great endgame thing (invasions are basically the only thing u can do when u finish the game and completed everything). Sadly they ruined invasions in ER, because the game is made for handless ppl, who would never win without a 3 vs 1 condition, and despite this ppl still complain that they get obliterated and are not able to play (in a game where u get WA which deal tons of dmg and are one more broken than the other, so basically by pressing 1 button they can do all the job).

I would honestly LOVE if they used Nightreign as a way to experiment a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ with the new technical skills and tools they have now.

Like experimenting again with the Halflight/OldMonk idea of bosses being player-controlled mobs

I'm just glad we finally have a game where you get to co op with friends without having to engage with forced PVP.

Already makes this a great game.

Bloodborne did it the best, honestly.

In BB, engaging in Co Op would spawn a Bell Ringing NPC. This Bell Ringer summons in other players to invade you. But if you found and kill the Bell Ringer, you could then continue to play with your friend and would not be able to be invaded by anyone.

That's the only time I'm fine with Invasions existing, because you had a way of opting out of it if you didn't want to bother with invasions, yet wanted to do co op.
