Is it 1 to 3 players, or 1 or 3 players?
Hearing some conflicting info.

You can however, if you team up with a friend via password, select two players. This only means, that the game will only apply the password matchmaking to two of the three players. This will team you up with your friend and the third slot will be filled with a random player.
If one of the players disconnects/leaves during a session, the other two will continue the run.

Honestly they should allow 2 at that point too, considering it already technically works.
